Taxi Remapped 175bhp. bing bang bosh DONE.!

Featured Replies

I had a 175bhp remap done on the superb this monday and all i can say is WOW.! What a difference its made.

The engine is much more responsive and pulls through out the gears.

I was originally going to have the remap done at shark performance but i didnt have £299 to spare, so i found a local mobile mapper with alot of good feed back.

The mapper called nic is a nice guy, he takes the car out before and after the remap. his company is - http://tunednstyled.co.uk/

My remap cost me £175 so that saved me a few pennys.

It's great isn't it!

I'm sure your passengers will appreciate the extra "go".

I remember once getting a taxi home in York by a brisky member who had a mk1 superb PD 130 and a remap. Felt really nice in the superb with the extra pull and felt very solid.

When I saw the title of this topic, my first thought was that remap gone wrong. Bing bang bosh and engine done :D

Nothing like a 260lb ft push in the back to make a drunk spew

:giggle:

I've had a look at the link and all looks interesting,

How do you know it's Mapped to 175 BHP, theres no figures stating that on the Superb Section or have I missed it?

Can't wait to have mine done next saturday :) How's the economy now?

Very tempted...... How do DMF's and clutches fare after a remap?

I have remapped (I write maps myself) a friend's Ibiza FR (1.9 tdi 130PS) to around 160-165PS, a very safe tune, he absolutely loves it now, no smoke and pulls like a train. I have also remapped my own 2.5 tdi to 180PS.

These 1.9 engines are strong as long as tuners know how to do it properly the DMF life should not be affected. Problems exist when they dump a lot of fuel at sub-2000 rpm, or flat map fuelling for all altitudes, so if you happen to go up the Alps that poor turbo might not like it at all. Or allow too much fuel above 4000 rpm... You'll be surprised just how many "professional" tuners there are that are frankly cowboys - I have seen some of those 'maps' - scary. Always go for someone with some reputation.

Oooh..... Northampton. I'm in MK. Do you do maps to the general populous and, if so, how much?

what would the price be to re map my mK1 superb 1.9 PD TDI 130 automatic though????

Don't know if your gearbox will thank you... I think that the box in these is pretty much on the manufacturer's limit already in terms of torque.
