  • Changing the "cold warning" option has made no difference at all in the past. Those ones you've linked to look the same as the many, many sets already tried by many, many people - they'll give you a b

  • Confirmed as working on my Blackline with the VCDS mod done. Looks loads better. Anyone got any experience of these GOLF MK6 R20 LED Taillights - Plug&Play Adapters On car systems.eu?

  • This is from a TT, so the Byte and Bit may be different, but the wording will be the same (Bit 6): As you can see it is not active (it was before I changed it) but it still gave a DIS (maxidot) err

Fitted mine with resistors today

Warning light gone!

Will look in a week to see if there is any evidence of heat

Fitted these to my Blackline, ticked the VCDS option, no problems at all.

You didn't need to spend that much on LED's as the option removes the requirement for CANBUS ones.

Only on very late models

Yes but he said he has a Blackline like mine so the ticked option works very well.

Look awesome on a race blue.

I have a 2012 VRS (not blackline) and do not have access to vcds, what is my option?

Using resistors?

Where are you Rob?

There is a map of VCDS owners in my signature, failing that it resistors / bulbs.

To confirm

The use of resistors works perfectly..no heat either

Wow, these LED bulb threads get confusing!

I have a 2012 vRS built at the end of May, what LED bulbs does that need for the number plate lights? Also, am I right in thinking the ebay ones linked a few post above will do the job, so long as the LED licence plate bit in VCDS is ticked?

Also, what LED's can be used inside the car, was thinking the courtesy lights?

Thanks :-)

On the inside, the outer two (map lights) are w5w, the inner one is a festoon type, but I can't remember how long it is. No coding needed, just plug and play. Makes a huge difference inside. I did the puddle lights too (inside and out) and that was a huge difference as well.

How do you change the puddle lights outside?

This is the only thing I need to do to finish mine.

You'll need to remove the mirror glass (I moved mine to "looking all the way down" then gently pulled it from the top - pops out). You'll see a screw that holds the clear plastic, undo that. You'll then be able to pull the clear plastic off and unplug the bulb.

Fitting, as ever, is the reverse of removal ;) Make sure the mirror glass is popped back in properly - mine felt like it was, but fowled on the casing. An extra push, a satisfying click and all is good again :)

Any fear of cracking the mirror taking it out?

I can be "clumsy" at times :p

Use your fingers, gently, but firmly.

(So tempted to add smutty remark, but will leave that for Daisy, if she pops in ;) )

Cheers

Just got these LED lights and tried them however the warning light is lit.

What do I do now?

Who would be willing to turn the option on? Im based in sheffield

I have picked Andymod out of those as he is a škoda technician however it won't let me contact him.

Did the coding today and took out the piggybacked bulbs.

Lights work ok without errors but I have noticed that whereas the lights dimmed as they turned off (coming home lights) just like the tail lights, now they just shut off without dimming. Not an issue, merely an observation.

Ugh,

I bought these and still I get a bulb warning even if I make the relevant changes to the coding in the Central Electrics.

Very odd, how old is your car? Do you have the "PWM" option or the "cold diagnostics" option
