Amunsden issue on new Blackline

Featured Replies

Pretty sure Amundsen doesn't have a DVD reader, so it must be CD.

Thanks allan - yes its henry's. Still waiting on response...

yeah the Amundsen is cd my mistake. but again the latest as far as i know is V3 maps. All i had to do was ask henrys and they ordered the latest disc and updated it for me better dealing with the service manager though.

Amunsden is crap compared to the columbus sat nav,why do you think its free

V4 Amundsen maps should be out shortly I would imagine. The v9 Columbus maps now have the new m74 extension and speed camera info

Does the columbus speed cameras give warning sounds or are they still icons??

Still icons not gave any warning sounds for me. I'll try it in my brothers as his has got newer FW than mine

I recently drove to Gatwick I was going on holiday and decided at the last minute to take my TomTom Live 120 with me as I've only had my Blackline for a few days and hadn't needed the Amundsen satnav as yet. I've got to say that I'm glad I took it with me because the satnav in the Amundsen + proved to be rubbish compared with the TomTom.

First of all, the whole process of finding Gatwick on the satnav using POI is so bloody convoluted, it took me what felt like 15 minutes but was probably a little less to find it, including the time it took searching. My TomTom ended up taking a minute.

I decided to leave the TomTom connected just in case. Good thing I did because I eventually realised the Amundsen+ didn't warn me about speed cameras. Imagine... a vRS with a satnav with no speed cameras warning. Hmmmm... of course, it's not lke I actually exceed the speed limit or advocate such. :-D

When I got the Blackline, I was gonna put my TomTom on eBay but think I will keep it and forget about the Amundsen+ satnav. I really am disappointed with Skoda for the BT issue where it's deactivated and I have to spend time & money hijacking my brand new car toretrofit BT and where the satnav is so mediocre. Other than that, I love my Blackline.

POIs are a pain in the arsenal. Stick to postcodes and you'll be fine.

Is there a way to scroll through the radio presets using the mfsw? When I try this it just seems to want to go scan the band.

On the Radio Setup options you can switch "Arrow Buttons" between station list and preset list.

Thanks, I knew it would be something simple.
