3rd gear and stiffness was sorted monday, removed the part of the mechanism on the gearbox for side to side movement and removed the little nylon spacer things cleaned out the hole with the bit of 180 grit paper nylon bits back in a coper greased the mechanism all now perfect i think it was where the gearstick wasn't coming back on its own it wasn't lining up for 3rd gear properly

right about time i start updating again its been a little while of stupid problems and thinking of selling up but think im back on track now!

 

had a week where the fabia wasn't being used so decided to park the octavia up for a bit and use the fabia and do a few bits that needed doing on that so i managed to get a picture of them both sitting clean for once!

 

 

then took a trip to the new forest, sitting in traffic going into one of the town and there was a big bang the car was still able to move so i tried getting it over to the side of the road and it went bang again and stopped... popped the bonnet driveshaft bolts had come out the O/S had all come out and inner joint just handing there so got the car moved round the corner off the main road and off to the pub to drown my sorrows! when a car has stretch bolts we always change them at work, so on mine i decided to use them 3 times... lesson learnt... back over to the car a temp fix and managed to get it back to the house £40 later and i had the tools and parts to sort it so first day of holiday and i was fixing the car...

 

 

then for more drinking along with a visit from Pete (group1rs) and his wife for quite a few drinks! i was in a bad mood with the car so it got parked up and left at the house for the rest of the week! 

 

so then once home thought i would make sure everything was ok so on the ramp and i found the clamp holding the TIP had come loose again! so after a lot of messing around and a lot of swearing i think i have it right this time, the car has never driven so well! but things going wrong made me start thinking... time to sell up! so stopped all mods but after a week the car hadn't given me grief for a little while so decided to give it a little clean under the bonnet as it was looking a mess!

 

 

then my new top boost pipe showed up so fitted that

wanted to do this for a little while but never got round to it! glad i have now looks so much better and is easier to work with! the car is driving an absolute dream at the moment (touch wood!) so for now it is staying just thinking what shall i do next!

been a while since an update nearly a month! :( an expensive month meant nothing spent on the car but i have a couple bits lined up for this weekend (hopefully!)

rewrap gille (will try to get some wrap tomorrow)

 

i spoke to Rob @ W8 Performance yesterday and he is getting my stage 2 file sent over and ready for when we meet up next but this could be this week or next as i said there is no rush

 

Then i'm hoping to get the car in the showroom on the 19th at work as i work in sales, parts and service on weekends so i will have time to give it a full clean ready for Show and Glow in bluewater on the W8 Performance stand

not one real reason really been thinking it for a while nearly put up an add yesterday but resisted temptation and decided to stick with it for a bit longer lol 

main reasons being

want something thats fast as standard

paranoid i have constant air leaks and of the TIP falling off again

something a little more comfortable 

something a little more up market and newer

a little more fuel economy wouldn't go a miss too! (although i've been looking at things a hell of a lot worse! lol)

 

we will see, for now its staying, just have to get my interest back lol

fast as standard is so boring! plus no car is fast as standard other than mega money things,older m3s and stuff like that maybe but still get killed by big turbo octy!

 

all part of the fun if we had no problems what would be the point!!

right had a change of plan primer turned up finally but decided i could not be bothered to take the front bumper off to take the CAI off so went with leaving that black and painting the battery box red

on other news i have been offered a fair price for the car that i may take still putting the stage 2 on and then see how i feel about it and i've got show and glow to do too so some point next month i may take the offer as its a mate and he is in no rush we shall see

after looking at quite a few different cars i got to the point where i was like well i cant find nothing that really makes me want to change maybe i should just keep what i have and then speaking to rob he said about S3's and that was it my mind was made up! i think... hahaha wouldn't mind an orange or blue S3 but would have to pay a premium to get one in them colours so really any colour other than black! lol 

 

we shall see at the moment its just in my head im not rushing into it for sure!

Really looking forward to seeing this in the week and having it on the stand at the weekend.

right time for an update....

 

got some vinyl wrap last week and rewrapped my grille and also the fuse box cover for the battery box centre

the grille started like this...

 

it is now back to how it should be but no pictures of that as we all know what a black grille looks like

 

then over to W8 Performance to meet Rob and Pete on Wednesday to pick up some bits ready for Show & Glow and while i was there Rob put my stage 2 on my car

 

on our road test we noticed as i was pulling back up there was an odd knocking noise that was in sync with the wheels turning so went home with the plan of sorting when in work on the Thursday and as i drove home it became more of the judder when braking and a louder knock when not braking! so into work on Thursday to find my N/S/R brake disc absolutely ****ed! so ordered in some new rear disc and pads for Friday

Saturday pulled my car into the showroom at work and gave it a proper clean, wet vac and put on the W8 Performance stickers ready for the show

 

 

so Sunday over to Show & Glow, the day started with me being late so a brisk drive to meet the others was met with a squeaky brake when turning right hand bends and as we qued it turned into a constant squeak but none the less i carried on and had a great day!

 

 

and then i ended the day in the usual way...

straight over to work to open up and fix the brakes... still unsure if this is dedication or just pure sadness!? haha

That is dedication, I've got a bit of a knock starting on the front passenger side. Need to get that looked at.
