Is This New "mini" Skoda?

Featured Replies

Found these images of Skoda 'mini', I think they've been computer generated - anyone out there know if Skoda will be producing something like this in near future, or is it just a design exercise?

Must be based on Lupo methinks....

I think that is just a photoshop involving a lupo with Skoda bits on it... It sure looks pretty ugly though...! I think the Lupo itself is prettier than that! (thinks back to the lupo TV ad) hmmm

Was reading about this in a car magazine in a waiting room (so it was dated around 2002), and it had this in it. Smaller 2 door car that could possibly replace the less well selling VAG offerings (such as the Seat Arosa).

Other than that, I've heard nothing about it!

Hmm Lupo 1.8T :D

Oh, and yes, it has been done ! :D

Hmmm. 1.8T Lupo - VRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!

The front end of the car looks the same size as the Fabia, so I see no reason why not! I think it would need some serious wheels to control all that power though. The originals look a little skinny. Would 18x8.5J fit?

Yes - saw Jabbas the other day and wow what a car!

Yes indeed there does exist at least 1 1.8T Lupo - bright yellow - with around 200BHP - it came to our dealership couple of weeks ago - god know's what the owner was thinking of buying...

Isn't there a GTi version of the Lupo with the 1.6 in it? I have seen one in silver and it looks amazing but the handling is supposidly mince! Got to admit that that picture looks like an Arosa with Fabia bits on it, but it's always surprised me why Seat do the Arosa and Alhambra when it is supossidly a performance brand.

You're right, Colin, I've always thought the same. What's true about VW ditching the Lupo? If that's so, than perhaps a cheap Skoda "Lupo" might indeed be on the cards. Would only be logical.

What does that document say? When I click the link all I get is a notepad full of strange data like this?

I can't even open it let alone get "

Right click and select "Save As" and save on to your hard drive. Then load Word and open the document !

Try this one (the previous one was a Word document with an embedded image).

Doh! beaten to it :D

Thanks, Nick.

Is this a new trend?

"The four-cylinder 1.4-litre petrol model is expected to be the entry-level machine, while the economical 1.4-litre three-pot diesel will power flagship editions."

First the Fabia RS, now this. What's next? A Superb RS with the V10 TDI? :)

That was the article I read in the old AutoExpress (well, it was written around the launch of the

Superb!).

I think the world is going diesel crazy, especially as Skoda drivers are supposed to be thrifty...

Thanks to everyone who sorted out c**p file I sent from 'Auto Express' about

baby skoda !

Not in too good a mood at the moment, as my Felicia LXi has been pranged

by the classic young lad wearing a baseball cap driving a red Nova.

( I swear there is a factory somewhere that makes these people....)

Anyway he did the classic thing of pulling out from a side junction without checking to see if anyone was approaching from the right and you can guess the rest.....wet road, squeal of brakes and BANG!

Apart from being shaken up, my Felicia did a good job protection wise, the Nova did not fair so well.

At least said young lad admitted it was his fault, he didn't see me coming...

Still I'm in one piece and a cars only metal, I can get another whereas there's only one of me.

So take care out there folks...

The Lupo Gti is plenty quick but the handling is poor due to the miniscule size of the car. Nice smooth roads and you're grinning from ear to ear, Sheffield roads and you'll shake most of your fillings loose.

Still, 125bhp in a car the size of a coffee table is always fun.
