I encountered a similar lack of interest when looking to get an ex-demo Golf GTi at my local VeeDub dealer

Still it worked out for the best - ended up with a new Octy vRS for much less than the one year old GTi with a fantastic and non-pushy sale I even got the vRS for the whole day to see if I liked it... brought it back 120 miles later

As you may have notice from another one of my posts Keeping it in the VAG Family I ended up going for a Bora but from a very friendly Dealership in Slough - would recommend Windrush of Slough. They were recommended to me by a friend although it was an advert in autotrader that resulted in me visiting them, we'll see how they fare in the servicing department with time...
