both front airbag gone off

wonder if the car is a right off?

Depends on the value of he car and eventual repair costs.... 60% of the cars value in repairs will be enough to get it written off (eg £6k on a £10k car)

What is Some unwashed Asylum Seeker doing driving. Was the unwashed Asylum Seeker Insured and did the unwashed have a UK driving license.

Hope you get it sorted.

he is eastern europeon,, with a name 'Eugen Adam', only very limited English, the car is a 'R' reg , europen driving license but been driving in UK for five years (he should change it after a year), police has delt with him regarding that matter before but it wasnt worth the effort apparently, he is insure lets hope insurance can sort it out

Bad times mate, hope all gets sorted

Not wishing to make light of the situation, but c'monnnnnn, you gotta see the irony in that?? :giggle:

Yup - amusing!

But, hope the OP gets it sorted too. These things are a real hassle to sort out! Good luck with it.

Thank god you didn't use the old "hahaha" as the hahaha police would have been along.

looks like you may be looking at a right off..... hope you get it sorted though.

Think his insurance will be void if he hasn't got a full UK license. But this should still cover 3rd parties one would hope.

Can't really see that it would be a write off but can't really see the damage as pic very small. only issue maybe the airbags being deployed.

Might not be a right off....it is an 11 plate after all.

If he is from an EU country he can drive here until either his EU licence expires or he is 70, whichever is sooner.

There is no requirement to exchange an EU (or an EEA) licence for a UK one. Should the holder receive any endorsements the DVLA will just issue a counterpart to his licence.

If he is insured and no one was injured, it is not a police matter.

I think you need to get to A&E pronto, I can feel the neck claim/whipcash coming on

Can't see that being a write off at all.

Hope it gets sorted out for you, nasty things to happen.

Is it me or is the wheel in the wrong place?

Broken front suspension, wishbone and prob driveshaft = £1000,

The new wing, bumper and respray = £1500 inc blending.

The airbags about £500 each

The dashboard replacement about £600.

Should be ok assuming nothing too much underneath, although obviously the above are all guesses and could be well out.

and this ^^^^^^ is what is wrong with society today! IF he is injured fair enough, but false claims are increasing ALL our premiums and it should be stamped out NOT encouraged!

Agree completely. Too many dishonest people out there raising all our costs!

....and the bigoted attitude of the OP is fine I suppose?

I may be a VERY occasional contributor but this thread just made me laugh, and kind of cringe....

Firstly, why should an Eastern European be either an "asylum seeker" or "unwashed"?

Secondly, why does the fact that he speaks little English of any consequence? I would hazard a bet that his written English will be at worst on a par with the OP's (and probably better) judging by his posts in this thread!

That thought had occurred to me.

It could have just as easily been a Judge reversing his Bentley into the OP.......the result is the same.

He's from Sheffield. ;)

Having worked for an end of life insurance yard, normally if both airbags have deployed it normally rights the vehicle of due to the cost of replacing dash etc & over the top labour rates charged by bodyshops

i am chinese and been in this country for a few year, English is my 3rd lang sorry if it sounds bad. its very had as i think in chinese and when i translate to English everything goes a bit wonkly. try using google lang for a few sentance and see what i mean.

my misses was alone in the car when it happen, a friend who saw the accident rang me and tell me to come quick as the other cars passenger and a few locals around 10 was all shouting at her. once i was on the scene i rang police and ambluance as i can see my mrs look very confused. i ask who the driver was and told the rest to move away, the driver spoke very very English and had to get one of his friend to translate, the area where the crash occur is in eastwood rotherham, a well known area for asylum seekers, he smell badly of BO. from all the information i got from a few nice English witnesswho make sure my mrs was ok and try to get those people away from her, one waited one hour with me to give statment to police , i think he was trying to reverse out so my mrs would hit him in the rear for false insurance clain, looks very much like he mistime it,
