Fabia Monte Carlo rallyflap kit update

Recommended Posts

Moving forward with the project to find rallyflaps for the Fabia Monte Carlo (ours yet to be delivered), as obviously the moulded Skoda ones don't work.

Now have a trial fit set; one front and one rear. These are non road going pvc rather than the production material of Kaylan.

Intend to try them out on our Elegance at the weekend but I could really do with putting them up against a real Monte Carlo to check the brackets work with the arch mouldings; any one my way that could help :wonder:

Thanks again YorkshirePudding for going over for the initial measure up :thumbup:

Regards,

Well, the Monte has been described in these pages as a Chav wannabe VRS, so I may as well go the whole hog and fit rally mudflaps - if it's possible to get a set once the initial ones are made for the plumber.

It would save me screenwash and rear vis, or the need to wash it daily (which I obviously don't do).

I do not think it is going to make it "chavvy", good project, especially you seem to be making them yourself!

I want mud flaps as me ususal commute is muddy :)..

I looked at Sparco ones and OEM Fabia ones but have not made a decision yet.

Not making them myself but working with a company that specialises in such equipment, albit their on the other side of the country to me, hence Yorkshire Pudding helping out; he's a lot closer to the company.

Going down this route as the moulded Skoda ones don't fit and besides the obvious spray, I'm concerned by the amount of stones that get thrown up from the broken road surfaces round here; especially in the winter.

Had a go fitting the rear trial rallyflap this afternoon; brackets may need a little rework but to be expected, otherwise I think the arrangement could work well.

Need to get the Monte however to confirm final trial fiitting. Front I hope to get to work on tomorrow.

Oh forgot to say the red is only for the trial flap, more discrete black will be production available, unless you want a more vivid colour of course.

Obviously I now have the Monte so further trial fitting has taken place;

Hope those who have expressed an interest will find them satisfactory.

Have sent the images to the company and the findings of my trial fitting process and will await their reply once they have the kit back to look at.
