insurance quotes for my monte (crazy prices)

Featured Replies

When I passed my test at 17 living in Northern Ireland (before moving to England). I bought a 1.1 Pug 106 which cost 1,400. The insurance was 1,600 for a year!!

If I didn't have help from family at that age I would have never been able to afford to drive.

Oh, I've been there, as have most of us. To have such a big chunk of my income wasted on insurance back then sucked big time. But when you consider that I'm now "deep" in my 30's, have always had a clean license, never any convictions or claims, even got a class 1 HGV (artic) license (now that is sooo hard to get), and the car is garaged and in a very quiet neighborhood, it really is obvious that insurance companies are just taking the p!ss.

Even more ridiculous is the fact that I'm paying that much just for the privilege of living (due to my job) so close to the sh!thole that gave us the Beatles, Cilla Black and John Bishop...

Would you like some smokhhhey bakhhhon with that lah? (smokey bacon) They are a funny bunch, I'll give them that. And I've met some extraordinary people there. Too bad that place reeks of yobs and thugs.

I spend hours on them every year, come renewal time. Maximum excess is waaay cheaper for me. And if I select protected NCB, it adds something like 50%...
