Superb 1.6 CR Greenline - Performance

On the quesrtion of rpm, I have a Superb Estate diesel 140 bhp with 18" wheels and at 70 mph the rpm are well under 2000, circa 1700 I think and at 80 mph, just around the 2000 mark, so I have assumed the mph per1000 are around the 37-38 level. I assume the size of the wheel diameter makes a difference. My previous Octavia PD 130 gave exactly 35 mph at 1000 revs and I think the official of the 6 sp box is 35mph at 1000 rpm, and as I said, this gets pushed up by the extra sized wheels. Although just over 2 yrs old, the mileage is just over 7000, so the engine is not fully " run in " yet?. Nearly all my mileage is motorway, so plenty of opportunity to observe the rpm.

Had a call from the garage today to say the car will be with them next week sometime giving them plenty of time to

PDI it for the 1st March delivery to me. The order was placed on the 31st January so that's pretty good going although it wasn't a factory order. The car was one of five "at the port of departure". The garage invited me down to see it when it arrived which I thought was a nice touch.
