Wing mirror casing --- any ideas

Featured Replies

Hi new to the forum so I hope I 've posted in the appropriate section. I recently purchased a yeti and whilst browsing ebay saw a set of wing mirror casings going cheap. As they were a colour match for mine I put a bid in and won. (Starting up a spares collection)

Well they arrived and the condition is A1 save for one of the casings internal clips being broke. (This wasn't mentioned in the listing)

What I'd like to know is what this lug actually does, is it a vital fix point?

To be fair the seller has offered a full refund if I return them (obviously only had this set) but for the price I paid the one good one is probably worth it and as previously mentioned they were simply spares.

I've an idea that there's no apostrophe in "ideas", but I've no idea if that's any help?

Welcome to the forum. :sun:

I doubt many people have had thier wing mirrors apart yet, but my best guess is that it's there to hold it together, meaning if some are missing it'll come apart easier if it gets a whack.

Bobdog --- grammar corrected.

Bossfox --- that was my guess too but they appear so flimsy. They actually remind me of the fixings for holding bits when spray painting!

Sorry Foxy - just teasing! :hi:

These of any help;

Oh welcome by the way,

See, that's what you need - a genuinely helpful bloke who knows knowledge ... not some idiot like me making silly comments!

Personally, I think we need both in a forum such as this...

Is that licence for me to carry on being a ****?

Thanks Plumber, I'll try and match the part with the pics and go from there.

Oh no, that means you'll be spending more time on here!!

Just kidding Bob. :giggle:

How are you going to fill your days?

Well first of all I'm going skiing. Then I have a new puppy arriving (my old dog sadly died last August) so I have puppy training to do. After that I'm baking bread, making chutney, brewing beer ... SWMBO is still working, I'm becoming the housekeeper. Hoping to sell my MG in the spring and buy a little sailing boat instead ... and do a bit of pottering about on the Norfolk Broads. Already have a kayak so that will get some exercise as well. Magic!

Bob, you'll wonder how you ever found time to go to work. Enjoy!

Yep, I agree! Totally, Mind you I can do it in a quarter of the time SWMBO seems to take and I can't tell the difference.... though I bet she can, even if there is no difference!!! :giggle:
