118d isnt just a compromise its 3rd behind 120d and 123d

£130 per tyre, keys that rattle against the dash, **** stereo bloody tramlining oh and the fact they get robbed (do i sound bitter)

£130 per tyre

Bin the runflats (if still fitted) and you can half that price and still fit a premium tyre (205/55/16”)

Personally if you like the car then go for it, it will be useless in the snow however without winter tyres fitted.

Make sure you notify your insurance, first thing they check !

I'd rather have the 118d personally, but my experiences with BMW vs VAG have been massively different to each other, and nearly always in BMW's favor so I maybe a bit biased. I think they're only a map and turbo away from the 120d anyway, I think they're the same block etc. (Been a while since I looked into them, so could be a bit out on that.)

As Jase says though, sell it if it's not your thing.

Tyre wise, they're all pretty decent and up to £40 under £130 in places. I've also not found them to be the cheapest online anyway, so suspect there are bigger savings to be made if you shopped around.

Given the choice again I may have opted for the 120d auto instead..

I like the drive and boot space of the 1.

The only downsides are as above posts pointed out - runflats.. no spare wheel space in the boot so £££.. and insurance is higher.

Though like for like now I wouldn't swap a 118d for mine, only a 120d msport auto (or quicker) .
