  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Cheers Jake.

Mat came with fixing screws, but i cant seem to get the screws into the

tiny holes in the floor.

Anyone any tips?

Line mats up where you want them, then with the pointy end of a sharp knife make a small cross shape within the locator hole of the mat. Lift the mat out the way and screw in the fixing screw. Line up again and repeat. Practice on the front passenger one first, as that one's less visible if you do it a bit wrong.

Cheers Jake.

I am suppose to CUT into those holes?

Um....not so confident! Eeek!

The passenger one has a screw in already from previous owner (beige colour)

Can u see in pic?

  • Author

So i screw the mats into the hole?

Instead of the passenger side where the screw is in the hole

and then the mat holes click into the screw studs?

For my mat screws (not the passenger beige screw one)...

I need to screw and unscrew to remove the mats to clean?

Will tht mean at one point the screw hole completely worn out and useless...

Sorry for above gobbledegook...

Will get some pics to explain better ...

Wayne take your car to a local body shop get find out what the cost will be from them looks like a dent docter and some spinning with a mop will repair most of the damage.

very true solid paint is easier to work with, metallic needs more time to match it right if but if you find someone that knows what there doing you will be fine my previous octy had quite a bad smash at the back needed a new bumper, new tail light and the rear quarter pulling out but my local body shop done an amazing job and it looked fantastic and they match the colors very very well and i will go to him if my superb needs to be repaired

YBH Wayne from the photo’s (which it can be difficult to really tell) most of those look like they will polish out.

Wayne i can assure you if you find a good repairer they can put it right,my local man repaired my door when some one pushed a shopping trolley into the rear door denting and scratching the door at the same time when he had finished you could not see the repair.that mark on the roof looks like that was caused by someone clearing the snow of the roof probably with a broom

Its the seller thn!!!

Grrrrr! :-(((

Rung Skoda Leeds - thy didnt do a visual inspection.

Will ring seller tomorrow - free 0870 calls at home :-(

Most of the scratches not fine enought to use rotary buffer to buff out.

A big scrape on roof might mean a whole respray of roof :-(

I would not do anything. It's not a new car. Just drive it and enjoy it.

If you invest in having them repaired you will then just find some more. It is never ending.

I agree mate.

But its such a shame - at least let me enjoy her before i djscovered all those scrapes! :-(

The sides/front not worth it (car dents at supermarkets and stone chips).

But the back and top i would like too since rarely damage.

I would also try to put a lacque on it to increase protection.

I used CARLACK in the past

Just give it a good clean and put a nice wax on it.

I feel for you Wayne. It may polish up well. And I guess any feint marks on the roof won't be seen normally. I got my first skoda (also Rosso and 10 plate) a month ago. You want to keep them pristine but in our busy roads and car parks it will drive you mad trying. Enjoy the car. I am so impressed so far with mine and am enjoying the driving. My last car was written off in a hail storm in Austria and I drove it for another three years looking like a golf ball so it could be worse ;-)

Cheers HotDog!

I have all the detailing kit (manual process only) - just waiting for a good day to do it!

Thks Pal!

Our cars have the same anniversaries!

Congrats to u too!

U got any pics of yours?

Looks very much like yours on outside but, being 1.4S, different inside. Black cloth interior and less toys than most of you. But still very solid and the space inside is brilliant. Great car.

don't worry i have a 1.6 tdi S, and i think the spec is very good

Racing Boy / Myles

Each to their own!

Am sure u both love your cars as thy are.

I am just tht little bit greedier and want more toys :-)

Wasnt even happy with Elegance spec! Lol

Only extra kit I would like on s trim is cruise. But all in all a tidy package. One benefit of no Columbus and no auto box (plus all other toys such as auto park) is there is less to go wrong in post warranty life. Because of simplicity of mine I have decided not to buy an extended warranty (touch wood etc.!!)

i would like the cruise to be standard too, but it can be fitted by changing the stalks and removing the wheel ETC but think the skoda dealers can do it for you and i am actually thinking of doing it
  • Author

I agree - more toys more things to go wrong!

Hence i just bought a 2year warranty!

I think my Superb has cruise.

But dont know where it is!

With todays busy motorways and lane hoggers - i have little chance of using cruise! :-(

Where are you based chan

If after an inspection they will polish out I've been detailing for 10years and would give it a polish with some Menzerna if it will come out that is.
