  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Now she is like this?

Manual describes it differently.

So does your battery cover same as mine (felt cloth material - not plastic):

Battery cover is the same, looks like some oil has been spilt around the cap, or it’s leaking?

Dunno martin!

Only seen under hood twice (test drive mid-jan) and tonite! Eeek!

I ll clean the leak off sometime and see if there is another leak...

Take the plastic cover off and see what you see

Glup!

Wayne's a well-known DIY disaster!

I have never attempt such complicated feat before! Eeek!

I ll give it a go though ...

It just pops up

It just pops up

U mean to plastic plugs / screws to undo (lose)?!

I can do tht!

Unclip and lift (or simply lift up)?

Will see if it snows heavily as forcast for 2moro...

it just pulls off Wayne there are four lugs one in each corner that the cover pushes onto

lift one corner at a time you cannot break anything.if the oil cap was not tight then you would get oil coming out of the cap make sure its tight .

Cheers bill!

Chan,

You can't have someone stand outside to check out your cornering lights, as they only work at speeds above 15 mph, you'll have to rely on the fog technique, and yes, in the dark fog you can definitely see them moving

Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2

Maybe 15 kmph, can't remember now, but it says somewhere in the manual

Cheers Liebel !

Trying to understand the manual again ...

It states OUT OF TOWN is basic mode , but does not say wot speed active.

Other modes active at 15kmp (except motorway).

Cornering lights at 10kmp?!!!!

Er, wots the diff btw cornering and ADAPTIVE? I thought thy wer the same?

One thing i know.

Whn i put lights in auto , my light beam swivels to the outside, thn inside.

Thn down and up?

The darn cover wouldnt come off,

Nearly had a heart attack thinking i might break something...

...but thinking wot Bill said (u cant break anything) - i persevere!

Yay!

Looks ok?

The oil cap was very tight.

So i took it off and cleaned it.

Oil everywhere ...possible too much oil or cap seals worned?

Oil level seems normal.

Can i get a new oil cap under warranty?

my engine does look like that under the cover,it does not have this insulation on top of the engine.

does anybody else have this on top of there engine or has mine been removed.

Thks Martin!

It does swivel mine everytime!

Except whn i cant see it during daylight :-)

So i got it (adaptive lights!) YAY!

Mine do a test when they start up (in the dark of course) - left, right, up and down...makes me laugh every time...along with the speedo/rev dials 'dance'...!!

my last octavia did the oil in the oil cap thing, didn't bother with it, maybe an overflow feature? but sometimes it was there and sometimes not but my 1.6 tdi superb hasn't done it yet
