I found my Superb: She's called Audrey!

Featured Replies

I've not had leather for a while now so not really up with the times as such. Another good shout I'd HG (Hagasan) product for your house. The leather cleaner is great as is the conditioner if your leather type is ok as above they also do a 4 in 1 product for leather too.

As with having a poverty spec SE I have the fake leatherette so the 303 dies the seats to even if they squeak for a day or two after. It brings them up a treat.

  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Sorry more trivial pursuit (but now usually after i have read the RTM and

Scratching head)...

The km/h showing zero - where do i change this?

image_zps1029fa9c.jpg

These 2buttons (1 left of dash, the other right of dash: showing "0.0")

The left one is to rotate display diff info such as clock/distance etc)

* like a subset of what can be selected from the INFORMATION DISPLAY

using the right stalk (wipers) or the optional buttons on the steering wheel)*

The right one to reset the diff info.

But, whn i press the left one it only highlights the HOUR or the MINUTES.

The right seem to do nothing?

What are you trying to change it to? mph? If so you need someone local with VCDS, it’s well documented here what you need to do.

Just got my Skoda Extended Warranty (courtesy of Car Care Plan):

image_zps318a1e83.jpg

Notice my Warranty NOT COVERED document on left side of GREEN,

and OLD warranty document on right....ref SAT NAV...

Wayne

why you have taken this warranty out if it does not cover the most unreliable part of the car and one of the most expensive.

Bill.

I know.

But i still think the sum of all other parts going wrong is greater thn the DPF going wrong is

worth the warranty alone ...

Or in my mind i pay for a piece of mind.

And willing to risk the DPF...

Might not make sense, but i am comfortable with my decision.

I know u completely dont agree bill.

But i hope u respect my decision.

i was talking about the Columbus i suppose i should have said.

I too have the SE spec and have treated the centre alcantara section with GTechniq I1, which has done a fantastic job of sealing it. Not only do any liquids not soak in but it also stops the dirt getting ingrained into the material.

I knocked a cup of coffee over on the passenger seat the other morning and the coffee just sat in the bottom of the seat squab meaning I could just soak it up with kitchen roll. Didn't soak in and no stain. Can definately recommend it.

Oh, er....let me just adjust my tie ...(wayne clears his throat)...

Look ere, sir,

The OLD warranty on the right states SatNav not covered.

But my NEW warranty has left SatNav out of the "not covered"

section which means it is now covered under warranty.

Plus i had TWO dealers confirmed the following (even though the document

states otherwise):

"The warranty people has confirm the stereo / satnav unit will

be covered under warranty if it is a manufacturer defect"

But, there is a BIG, the warranty WILL REPAIR the unit.

BUT will not replace it if it goes kaput!

So in truth, i suppose i prefer they replace the unit if it breaks.

But i am happy with the repair compromise.

Hope tht explains my rationale for purchasing the warranty...

...or not.

Just checked the warranty again - my warranty NO longer states tht the DPF is NOT excluded :-)

Just enjoy the car mate and do as you see fit, you could say anything and will still not satisfy certain people on here. Good luck.

Great thread and in terms of the cleaning, really shows what you can achieve with a bit of effort (and some decent products).

I need to get mine cleaned and pics uploaded ASAP...!!

Well, nothing special to update on Audrey for the timebeing.

More of a personal thing really to see Audrey on her maiden voyage

to my parents (Bristol) on our usual Scooby route:

Pickup kids after school at 3pm.

Shoot out of Bradford onto M606 - M62 - M1 - M42 - M5 - M32 - Bristol (230miles)

Scooby LPG would use a full tank £28 at a steady 70-80mph

Audrey just been topped up this morning to the brim (no issue with angle nozzle of cutting off prematurely).

£1.49 / litre v-power (LPG 69p/litre).

Should reach Bristol abt 7-8pm (dependent on number of wee stops).

Quick supper thn shoot to Manchester Airport Travelodge at £25/room + £9 breakfast buffet with my kids eat for FREE! :-)

5hrs :-(((

Traffic, road works and generally drivers slowing down to see accident on the OTHER side of the carriageway.

More thn 1/2 fuel left.

Very crude guess £30+ trip...certainly more thn the LPG Scooby.

Trip quiet.

As mentioned in another thread - whining/whirring(?) noise from engine from 50mph.

Noise disappears from a certain (cough cough) higher speed...

A pillar blocks huge chunk of view.

Stereo still slow as ever and prod-screen getting used too (sigh)

But still love the quality - calmness and smooth delivery of power at higher speeds :-)

Well, after 500+ miles, its nice to have another chip crack on Audrey glasses.

I just hope the Superb gets chips is NOT as common as my old BMW 1-series being

easily having new windscreen replace every year. Eeek!

1st chip

Erm, wot wiper sizes are everyone s Superb?

Mines 24 / 18.

And any reason why whn the wipers stops at their resting place it moves up abt .5cm before it stops?

At long last!

I can change the MAXIdot (?) to display different info...press RETURN

button on steering wheel and rotate the little wheel and press it!

Reset the trip computer, press the [0.0] button on right of dash!

Couldnt understand the manual:

- either typos

- or not written in plain english! Eeek!

- did try to find the CLEAR / CRYTAL / PLAIN English icon - but couldnt...

As it's written in Czech and translated, it doesn't always make sense.

I thought I had Adaptive Headlights (the turning headlights?)...

...I say that because when I was moving very slowly and turn the steering wheel, I noticed the lights swing to the direction I was turning.

After someone here said I also had the WINKING FOGLIGHT, I may have thought wrong, it could have been the fog light coming on...

You do have the cornering headlights, the easiest way to see them moving is in the fog (light switch needs to be in ‘Auto’)

As for the cornering fog lights it did look like yours were set up this way, to check turn the lights on and put an indicator on, one foglight should then light up.

Ah, it all make sense now...

Thks Martin!

That's better than me trying to turn the wheel (ref. fogs).

Will try that tonite!

I know I got it, since I thought before one of mine fog bulbs was blown.

As for cornering lights - not sure wot to look for in the fog - trying too hard too see thru the fog already.

But, will get someone to stand outside and check one day....

I was convinced mine were not bending when I got the car, but in the fog you can clearly see them moving, now I see them move all the time.
