Yeti Owners Manual?

Featured Replies

Is it me? Am I getting old? Am I the only owner to find the manual difficult to understand? And why, as with so many cars, can they not produce something that relates just to your specific model so you are not constantly wondering if yours has got that whatnot. Perhaps an electronic manual which could be tailored to your car and accessories.

Anyway, rant over and I only collected mine to-day and no doubt more time to play will elucidate! Pleased so far but is quite different to my Qashqai...

Yeti SE+ 2.0l 140 4x4. Red

Quite agree with you, also to add to your point it would be nice to see some illustrations with right hand drives ,surely Skoda UK sales should warrent this.

Enjoy your new toy

Agree entirely - in this day and age it should be very easy to produce an electronic version tailored to each specific car.

Thank goodness for that!

A member of my family is considering a Qashqai- not sure what model, so I would like to be able to give him some valid advise from some one who has first hand experience.

So if you are able to spare a few moments to relate some of your experiences it would be much appreciated

Many thanks from any forthcoming reply either good or bad.

Ramonford - The Qashqai is, IMHO, a great car. Mine was a 2.0l petrol, 4x4, CVT Acenta which I had from new for 5 years. It was new on the market so one or two teething problems but always reliable and pleasant to drive. Did not like lack of oddment storage for the driver and space between rear door and seats is rather narrow and some passengers find this awkward. Typically returned 32 mpg - not bad for 2.0l petrol automatic!

Thank you "Matchbox" for your reply - will be most useful.

Would you please mind giving your opinion on the CVT box as my friend is considering this option.

Many thanks again.

Can I assume that the CVT being discussed is different to that fitted to DAF cars of old? I understand that this depended on 2 elastic bands! :giggle:

No, the Qashqai uses metal bands running in oil(I think). I found it a delight, smooth and efficient, still with good overrun braking. A new user might find the surging engine noise a bit off putting, but you get used to it and perhaps adjust your driving accordingly. It has a strange way of keeping a constant speed if the throttle position remains the same! There is a manual override which I seldom used. Chief tech. at my garage reckoned it was the best and most reliable gearbox he knows.

I miss it on my manual Yeti but would not now want to pay the extra and there is a certain pleasure in dropping a gear and powering round a corner or up a hill.

(mine was traded in at Gordon Lamb in Chesterfield 01246 261100 Lee Maisfield). A good honest car!

And, thanks to the Tiptronic side of the DSG, you can! And I'm sure many of us do!

Getting the hang of the manual now - guess I was a little tired the other night!

But why all the 'warnings'. Almost every paragraph tells you to first refer to safety instructions on page 'x'.

Add why can you not look up 'tyre pressure'. Takes ages to find a reference to this and then you are referred to the fuel filler cap(most cars have this on the door pillar). This is not unique to Skoda, all my cars seem to have this anomaly.

Many thanks for the reassuring words on the CVT. Will pass this info on

This is as close as we will get. An iPad app from the App Store.

You can download the manual relevant for your build year.

There are also a couple of other Sokda apps as well.

Tha owners manual is available as a 'pdf' file and as such should be readable on any device.

Even on this blackberry (after a LOT of trouble...)

Yes, I have a pdf version of the manual on my laptop and tablet - I just thought Rockhopper was suggesting the availability of something more exciting!

Out of curiosity I just looked up Skoda in the App Store. Surprise, surprise there is a Skoda app which enables you to download an offline manual for any of the Skoda range. Seems well designed and there is even the ability to search. It is based on the printed version, is free, and it works! Sorry if you are not an Apple Ios user...

No, I'm Android!
