A few months ago I spoke to Alistair at Unit 18 Automotive about making the Vrs more meaty. After few conv he recommended the piper turbo back decat w 1 silencer exhaust with pipercross filter for 20hp gains. Had that all fitted in September and immediately noticed a difference. More responsive and good sound.

Next on the list was a remap but after reading on here and noticing that the standard 130 KKK turbos were going on the Fabias more than I shower (and I'm quite obsessive with my hygiene) I didn't want to risk getting a map then the turbo pops f***ing everything up. I decided I needed a turbo that could handle the power so Ali got hold of a new pd150 Garrett for a good price.

Then Christmas came.....

So after Xmas I wanted to get the turbo fitted and car remapped to finish off the power increase.......Then some **** decided to hit my car in the car park with their C2 when they had more space to get past than a bus. So a couple of weeks in a courtesy car waiting for my vrs to be repaired (they gave me a 12 plate golf 2.0 tdi GT with heated leather seats) So when I got my vrs back, to say I was disappointed to go back to the horrible dirty cream vrs seats is an understatement lol.

But finally booked the car in last week for turbo fitting and remap at Unit 18. The turbo was fitted, DPF deleted, oil and oil filter changed and then remapped by Motech. I must say the difference is amazing. The map is very smooth, it continues to deliver power throughout the revs, especially in 3rd gear, instead of dropping out. Living in Milton Keynes it's just too tempting to floor it out of roundabouts, especially with all the wannabe racers we have in terrible cars, while still returning outstanding MPG.

A big thanks to all the guys at Unit 18, and the advice/help I got. I am pretty useless with car knowledge so it's great to have the help. My car is transformed and so fun to drive.

Probably meant decat, as there is no DPF on the fabia vRS of course.

Well when Alistair advised me to get the piper exhaust and filter he said its good for around 22hp gains. But obviously thats an estimate unless hes actually had someone do before and after readouts but I will get mine on rolling road soon to see final figures. Its believable though as it felt much more responsive after.
