Vrs Blackline Estate Manual Gearbox - Maxidot - Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi,

We are thinking of getting a Octavia Vrs Blackline Estate with manual gearbox, we have been offered in Brilliant Silver.

I understand that the DSG model comes with Maxidot display as standard, also that if you want Bluetooth for some reason it is easier to install factory retro fit if you have Maxi dot.

Has anyone taken delivery recently of a manual blackline estate and if so does it have maxidot display?

I think they are all fitted with the Amunsden Sat Nav, which appear to have a phone button on the display, which i can only assume means as some level it is suitable for bleu tooth telephone.

We have two local dealers, one says bluetooth can be retrofitted for £350+vat, and this will function through the sat nav, the other dealer says with out maxi dot it might be best to replace the amunsden sat for a jvc which is already bluetooth ready (at a cost of £1000), which sounds crazy to me.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Yes all blacklines have maxidot. And the blue tooth is very easy to activate your self just do a search on here and it will tell you how on a very good thread. The system the dealer quated you for was a seperate bluetooth bix that sits under the drivers seat but rhis isnt needed s the amundsen has bluetooth internal to the unit. All that needs doing is mic install and vcds activation of bluetooth.

Had my bluetooth activated for £20 and just got the microphone (£30) which I will fit myself. Fully intergrated into the maxidot and Amundsen. Lovely!!

Are you sure it's a blackline as the 'first wave' of 500 were only available in white, blue or black? The blacklines come with Maxidot and you can retro fit the mic and enable the blue tooth for your phone. £350 is steep IMO if the phone is important to you and you use it a lot you'd be better off IMO with the DSG as it comes with the multi function steering wheel which has the phone buttons on it so is a lot easier to use as you can work the phone without taking your hands off the wheel. The Amundsen has blue tooth so the 2nd dealer is talking rubbish

simple way to see if it has maxidot is to switch on the ignition ad open the door. if you get a picture between the dials showing the outline of the car it's maxidot.

There's a fitting guide to put the mic in as set up the blue tooth in the Octy II section somewhere - Welsh kia boy posted it so drop him a line to thank him!

As Littleade says, Is it a Blackline? Should say so on the V5 if it is. I would be interested to know.

The Garage order states VRS Blackline, i wasn't sure so before i ordered i called Skoda UK, they said there was 9 Octavia Estate Blackline VRS Manual in Brilliant Silver Metallic available (this was last week)

So i guess a silver blackline is a little rare, has anyone else heard of any?

The Blackline gets less and less special every week :giggle:

Just what I was thinking. God dam skoda. Its now become just a gimic to sell the last few cars rather than as origonaly promised a ltd edision.

So i take it you don't like silver, personally i think it is there best colour :hi:

Not saying I dont like the silver just saying skoda uk are for ever changing their minds. Origonaly was only in the 3colors blue black n white. The silver is a nice color but not my choice hence I went for blue.

Hi,

I am taking delivery of my White VRS Blackline on 1st March. When I was looking for 1 last month I asked the question of what colour could I order I was told this was the last hatch that was available in the country. I was ofered from 4 different dealerships, 13 blue estates, which were in GB and 9 silver estates which were in a holding compound in Germany. They were the last Blacklines available, I hope this helps.

You are correct, however it was never the exclusivity that was the selling point for me - the amount of of extra kit for no extra money combined with some decent existing offers from Skoda were the main selling points.

+1!

Seems the people who have the biggest hang up about the Blackline's 'limited edition' Status are the ones who haven't got one! I can only drive 1 car at a time so don't really care how many there are-even if I was there will still be far more standard vRS's about than Blacklines so by definition it will remain more exclusive

Nope not me, its just an Octavia with leather, black wheels and only in diesel guise.

Sorry, praps my post should have said some of the ones (i.e. Not all!) Was only taking the mick...if the 5* review of the octy III on what car is anything to go by we'll soon be envious of that!
