DPF differential pressure sensor replaced with no adaptation cycle

Featured Replies

Evening all. I put my 57 plate PD170 into a local garage after the exhaust management light came on.

They read the fault codes and told me it needed a new differential pressure sensor. So I read up a bit about them during the afternoon.

On collection, I asked if they'd run an adaptation cycle, which they hadn't, and said had never needed to in the past for this fault.

I asked them to double check and using their Snap-on generic diagnostic kit were unable to force regeneration as the DPF levels were fine.

They suggested asking a Skoda dealer to do this if I really needed it.

Is it essential I get this done? I don't want a dead DPF on my hands.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks, Jon.
