It's at work, in boxes on a shelf...

Thanks for bumping the thread to share that wisdom with us. :wonder:

You're welcome.

Indeed. :D

Given they've started pushing the Nismo brand for the juke, you'd think they'd be keen to help you get a Nismo Leaf running about ;)

Accidentally clicked on page 1 of this thread to be met with the statement

"new car ordered".

"What another ?" I thought. He's at it again.

Then I realised my error. Had me going for minute though.  :D

I just thought it may be worth bumping this up as as well as personal experience, it became a general EV discussion too.

So...

We have now had four LEAFs for around a year, so they are due to be sold off.

For 2015 we have ordered one LEAF in Acenta mid-range spec and one in Tekna top spec.

The discounts are decent.

KIA are keeping me waiting with info on the KIA Soul EV for fleet purchases.

But judging by the reviews it's got a 10% better range than the LEAF.

Before you watch this, bare in mind it's 22 minutes...

i3 didn't suit due to limited rear seat use and awkward access to children with the funny rear doors.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens for the 2015 model LEAF due in March/April as rumors are of an option extended range version.

So you buy an EV and pay a certain amount if you want even larger batteries.

I like the Soul EV. Saw it in Geneva and thought it was pretty good. My dads new bit of stuff drives a petrol version and apparently its good.

kryten!

Looking forward to my course and learning a bit more about working on these and life with them :D

looks pretty good.... at £25,000 though, I could have bought my vRS new, and had £10,000 to spend on super unleaded..... thats allot of fuel.

But imagine if it was possible to get a 20% discount and then claim back 20% against your tax in the first year.

Suddenly it's a reasonably priced car with almost zero running costs.

He's quite an EV advocate.

Does sound interesting.  Hope it is.

It's a level 2 one day course at Bridgwater certifying me to work on them.

Boss,

Have you put your name down yet for the Honda Hydrogen car - perhaps you could be the 1st member of the public to run one with Honda Advertising support.

Should see a few management cars around Wiltshire over the coming months.

I don't see the point of a hydrogen car until the infrastructure is in place.

Chicken or egg scenario!

There is a hydrogen filling station not so far from your workplace, (Stratford / Lea Valley), it's used by First-Group to fuel the fuel-cell buses that they run

for TFL. I don't know if they would allow other vehicles to use the facilities though.

Yes, had the same problem with natural gas vehicles.

We were offered four Ivecos that ran on natural gas, but the only filling station was in central London and you had to book an appointment.

Considering we'd have to fill them up every two days it was unviable.

I am all for new tech, but not with it being a PITA.

An EV always fitted into my routine very well.

This is the 2nd time TFL have trialed fuel-cell buses, the 1st experiment used 3 M-B Citarios that had to run out to a BP station on the A127 to fill-up.

Combined with the much lower range than the newer Wrightbus vehicles, this mean't that the could never do a complete shift.

The trial route is the RV1 from Tower Hill to Covent Garden, about 120 miles for a full shift.

I've read that when Honda started trialing their FCX in California there was a small network of hydrogen stations already in place, supposedly using solar power

to power the hydrogen production process...............

First Group get their hydrogen deliveries from Rotterdam every 2/3 weeks in a tank trailer, so I'd guess that the overall running costs of these buses must be

a magnitude or two more expensive than running their normal diesel / hybrid fleet.

Q. What do you use your current EV's for, & are you waiting for a viable electric minibus to surface?

Our EVs are cars used for pool vehicles and general run arounds.

Due to the nature of our work, EV minibuses would be ideal.

BUT due to the work being local authority competitive tendered I doubt they would be cost effective until 2nd hand as the overall cost for running the service would increase.

I believe Nissan have released an Electric Van now haven't they, or I thought when I drove past our local Nissan Dealers. I can see them taking off for delieveries in cities and towns as cheap to run,

I guess similar to how your Pool cars are run, apart from the initial outlay and any costs associated it is just the cost of keeping them charged.

Just spotted a Nissan EV van. The writing said it only costs 2p a mile to run. Much cheapness!

I've got one of the people carrier versions of the e-NV200 (Nissan's NV200 van with LEAF running gear) on loan for two weeks in January to test.

Who is running them in Wiltshire? I've developed a website on air quality in Wilts, might be a good news story for it

Was on the local and national news relating to the Honda Factory in Swindon.

Check out via Google or similar, probably about 3 months ago now.
