I give up

Can anyone recomend a good paintwork repairer near Mansfield Notts. Don't care about price but must be 100% trustworthy and do an excellent job. Some absolute f**ktard has damaged my Blackline whilst it was on my drive. Its on a quiet close aswell so its not an accident. Haven't seen it yet but had a call off the wife this morning so if she has noticed it it must be bad will upload a pic when i get chance, but its sounds like someone has dinted and scratched the boot with something.

Sorry to hear that, I hope those little ba**a*** get their commupance.

Mine was keyed a couple of months back in a shopping centre car park, luckily the body shop near mine did a cracking job. My heart goes out to you fella.

Unreal. People just cant leave others property alone. Nothing worse than it happening when its on your driveway aswell.

Jealousy is a cruel mistress.

Are there any CCTV cameras in or around your street?

Nah its just a small close full of pentioners but theres a local thug who's moved in on the street a couple of months back drives a different van every day or pickup etc keeps getting the house raided by the police. If i had to put my money on anyone it would be him. I thought he was giving me a deadeye when i was washing the cars at the weekend you know when you can feel someone is staring at you even whe you have your back to them. Anyway probably being paranoid but that would be my bet. The wife's said the damage is high up on the boot its not touched the bumper so that would fit in with his vans / pickup idea.

**** feel for ya mate. Why do people do this? Every time I park I put it miles away from other cars with LOADS of space everywhere else yet ALWAYS I find a car parked right up close to me when I get back...... Does my head in

no way :(

sure it was defo done on your drive way?

maybe time for some CCTV

Feel for you pal :(

As above, are you sure it was done on your drive? Could it not have been done in the car park where your wife parked it or anywhere else for that matter.

Yep it was fine while i was washing my red vrs yesterday and it didnt move off the drive until this morning which is when the wife noticed it. It looks more like somone has thrown a brick at it rather than a vehicle impact now i have seen it. can't understand why the alarm didn't go off though.

Any opinions on where to get it repaired? and whats the best proceedure will filler be ok or should i just get a new boot lid?

I'm no expert, but it looks to me like that could be knocked out and repaired. The paint looks to only be broken by the actual impact and fixable. Good luck.

Don't know anyone down your way scribbler, they might drill it to pull it out a bit but most likely would just fill and spray imo.

Wait for some recommendations and good luck

Sorry to hear your news, accidents happen, but to cause it and leave.....

What type of pickup does your neighbour have, transit style or 4x4 type

Looks like it's been hit with a hammer.

Worth looking into one of those cheap dashcams?

I initially thought it would be just a filler job but looking at it now its dinted the seam or fold line where th boot returns under to form the recess for the number plate and cracked the paint all the way along the fold. :@ A few inches higher and it would be an easy repair. I have been through all the smiley's below and they don't have one to demonstrate hoe angry this makes me. This might be an oportunity for me to convince the missis it might be a good idea to debadge the boot and have it nice and smooth :blush:

Take it around to a few repairers and see what they say. They will give you advice on how it should be repaired. It does look like something other than a vehicle, but its quite a soft shell part of the car so will probably be pulled/tapped out and painted.

It does sound extreme but home CCTV systems are good. I have a system on top of the garage looking at the driveway for security purposes. If anything it may just act as a detterent. Worth considering.

It does look like something was thrown or even shot at it....

I so hate to read these threads really gutted for you Scribbler. :(

I post this in must such threads where it's anonymous third party caused damage and I will post it again as it sums up my feelings on such matters.

NSFW or little ears at home (naughty language)

Sorry to hear that mate. I know how it feels to have your pride and joy vandalised. I had only had my blackline less than 6 weeks when some cucking funt decided to remove its drivers side wing mirror and to add insult to injury 6 weeks after that some git has managed to chip the paintwork down to the metal just in front of the drivers door. That still needs repairing properly but at least I've put some laquer over it to stop it rusting.

feel you mate, b***dy hate when car gets damaged through no fault of your own, makes me even more mad when folk turn round and say its only a car. anyway it looks like a wee pull, fill and paint job.worst bit will be the painting as a repairer wont spray the complete boot lid, more likely to blow it in which is ok if its a reputable sprayer

Curbishleys on storforth lane, chesterfield. My cousin is in the trade and uses them all the time, very high standard of work. I'll dig out a link.

Tell them Ian Paynes cousin recommended them. They can provide an indicative quote from photos.
