  • Missed you last sorry. Just back in after freezing my meat balls off, tried 8 discs in total 1X DVD 1 X CD, 1 of each burnt with different programs at min speed. Had to try a few combinations of thing

  • A bit like this... PS: If anyone really wants this for their Columbus, you are more than welcome to have it FOC.

Thanxs for all help guys, all along it was me in the wrong :(, the answer was right in front of me but I didn't read it...

On that netdata site it has a FAQ's page and it tells u on there, that if U get the downgrade error to push mic+eject+setup and all along I've been doing that but not the setup button but the 2 < >, so after all that I went tried again and worked straight off, very happy loving some the logos on there :)

I have to say it didnt make sense you needing to downgrade the firmware if you didnt have the later firmware with secret menu. Good result, well done.

Was gonna have this one but changed me mind

Then went for this one :)

That is my favourite

Sent from my Galaxy S5

Right, I've got bored with this.....

I have a 1T0035680P (VW) unit and have written off enough discs now.

Have used the NetData website to create an ISO, burnt that ISO to CDs and DVDs at the slowest speed my drive will do (4x), have used the software in Windows 8, and Alcohol (complete with all it's shyteware!) and ImgBurn, I've got the downgrade option enabled through the developer menu, I've started the process by inserting the disc, I've started the process with Setup+Eject+Mic (a star on my unit), everything goes fine until it comes to actually doing the update, then I get a "can't do it" error, disc ejects and unit restarts back to normal.

As I've got a VW unit in a Skoda, should I be using the updater for the car (i.e Skoda) or for the unit (i.e VW).

Thanks guys :)

Does anyone know if  blscript.cfg  can be changed to read the files from the SDCard instead? (i.e start the process from the disc and then hand over to the SDCard, which seem to be less picky)

I would expect it to be unit specific rather than car specific

I suspect it is technically possible to do what you want based on the post I found when doing this but I don't know exactly how it is done.

Right, have managed to sort the original problem: IMGBurn automatically decides to do DAO instead of TAO, although why the headunit wants it that way round will probably remain a mystery,

Also did a firmware upgrade to 5269, can't find a source for 5270. Of course, having done that, I had to re-do the logo! :D :D

I'll have a look into this. It would be nice to end up only booting from CD and then the rest from SDC :)

Do you still have this picture stored on your pc and would send it to me? Would love to have this on my android headunit, although aspect ration of the screen is different (resolution is 1024x600) so some editing will be needed I guess.

Thanks

http://www.netdata.be/ which is used to create the disk to flash the boot logo on RNS510 units, keeps a list of previous logos used. Here is a direct link:

Hmmm.

I used the site on the 17 September and had no problem. Perhaps the site is down temporarily.
