Speeding Forms

Featured Replies

Seem to remember someone raising this before. Not signing the form obviously works - but probably only until the law is changed.

I mentioned it - it was in one of the boy racer mags a while back...

*cough* so I was told...

It seems to be at the discretion of the court, so it isn't without risk.

Indeed...probably helps if you are a minor celebrity...

Rob.

How about if you pretended to be dyslexic?? Wonder if that would work. No offence to those that are by the way but I'm sure someone might try pulling one like this!

Jane - Rainbow "Down To Earth" if i'm not mistaken.........."I wanna love ya oooorrrrr night long......" Ah Monsieur Bonnet did have a good voice.....aye!!!!

As in Richie Blackmore?

Thought about not signing as I just recieved a 36 in 30 decided in the end to just send it in, seemed looking on the net it might work but another procecussion charge may have be sought if the form remained signed.

That's rough John. 36 in a 30, i'd say pathetic even. What's next.........."Sorry sir we'll have to take your licence, do you know what speed you were going? No officer, what speed was I doing? Well sonny we've got you on our gun at 30.00001 miles per hour. I'd say that's a

Thanks Andre,

I picked up the ticket in Oxford we were lost and looking for a particular road didn't see the camera so I suppose I wasn't driving with due care and attention. I anoys me that its black and whiter with cameras without taking into account any other facts about your driving - this weekend I have been setting my cruise in all 30 & 40 zones which really anoys following drivers making it more dangerous with other drivers making dangerous manouvers to get past or keep extreemly close to your bumper. Only another 3 years to go at being super careful!!!

... isn't it four years or did they change it ?

One of the salesmen at our dealership was caught on camera at 105MPH in feb, ticket didn't go straight to him as he was on company demonstrator - so it went to the BOSS instead. Our gut tied not signing -- it didn;t work when he was in court last week it was specifically brought up that he had refused to sign,he is now waiting to see what happens -- anything more than 9 points and he's on the dole.,

Our company policy is 9 point's or more - your sacked. If you get prosecuted for drink drive in a company vehicle - regardless of ban it's also immediate sack -- they can't take the risk - we drive hundreds of thousands pounds worth of cars everyday.Plus also the bad publicity...

We recently had customer with an Audi TT - came in complaining of windnoise at 75-80 MPH - he was correctly advised by reception that we could not drive above 60mph in our local area,he asked if we would roadtest to see if noise was apparent then,ok so I send one of my technicians -- 35 minutes later the technician walks back into the workshop white as a sheet -- our "customer" had proceeded to drive on an A road -- at over 120MPH -- he then asked technician if he could hear noise - technician asked driver to pull over - he did, technician got out and walked back....

Yeah richie blackmore's rainbow. down to earth is the one with since youve been gone on it.

How stupid can you be? thats the sort of person that should be banned...for life.

Andy

I live in Oxfordshire, just off the A420. The recent Council Tax excuse leaflet makes interesting reading. The Vale of White Horse & Oxfordshire police force **intend** to **double** their income from "other sources" over this next year. They've recently changed the limits on the A420 so it randomly seems to swap from 50 to 60 and back again, and each swap down - a speed camera. The lower speed regions certainly aren't where I've seen accidents. In fact there's one 60 stretch which is an accident black spot, and has been left untouched. Basically anyone hoping for a bit of leeway in Oxfordshire is onto a loser - they have a ***stated*** income target to reach.

Of course there should be speed limits - but using them to increase police force income rather than make roads safer, and stating that in a council tax brochure, is a cynical betrayal of public duty.

(And ***exhale***.)

Following on from my NIP for 36 in 30 I have received a conditional offer to attend a

This one get's better -- the customer came back into dealership today insisting that we sort out the problem of windnoise, when we said that we were not prepared to test the vehicle in those conditions - he kicked off good style - service manager went to talk to him to advise the fact that we did not appreciate him taking our technician's on 120MPH road test's on public roads -- he says -- and wait for it - you won't beleive it -- "It's ok, I'm a trained POLICE driver"!!! --- Unbelievable --- we suggested that he might like to try and find another dealer....

 Some people, eh?

it's not only Police drivers either - I once had to road test a car, with a chap from the fire service -- no problem with speeding as I was driving :D.

However we come to a manual traffic signal at roadworks -- about to change against us - "No problem" he says "Keep going" - he then proceeds to switch on hidden Blues & two's --- it was great nee naw nee naw nee naw......

4 years on licence. 5 years for insurance purposes.

look forward to attending and hopefully learning something.

Really, don't get your hopes up, I wouldn't think it was anything more interesting than the rest of the "speed kills" campaign.

I seem to recall our good member ffelan had the opportunity to attend such a course, and was informed that cars these days stop no better than a Morris Minor!

Rob.

ive done the course... dont get your hopes up... nearly got expelled for argueing that the stopping distances in the h/way code are not realistic for a modern car... apparantly a clk 430 with abs/abd 335mm discs and 255/35/18's wont stop any quicker than a morris minor on drums with cross ply 135 tyres?

Absolutely true if you've just hit a tree. In fact the CLK's stopping distance is probably a few mm more in such an event. ;)
