Featured Replies

Right i am just about to order a Columbus off ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261120581897?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

I was wondering which one to go for as this seller does numerous different software version from B to L at varying different prices?

Is there much difference with them all or does it just mean they start up quicker and respond better??

Shall i spend the money on a newer one or just go for the above link?

hi bigtex

as your car is 07 i would email them .you might need the software update they mention.apart from that this is the latest unit i cant see where you can go wrong.ps as long as its not a copy?

there are probably other members on hear that have already bought one of these so they might get in touch with you if you wait awhile.

A good question. Why buy the latest software version for a lot more money? Can you not just update an older one?

That was my thoughts exactly...... is it just a clever marketing ploy???

The ebay seller gives the impression the hu will be faster with the later software? All the ones they sell are the LED screen version so cant see the point in spending loads more than £500.

I bought a Columbus unit from this seller for my Yeti last June. It arrived very promptly and did exactly as it said in the advert. It was brand new and just what I wanted.

Rather than pay the price quoted I made him an offer which was slightly less - he accepted my offer so both parties satisfied.

Hope this helps.

There is something about this elsewhere I believe, the "D" refers to the revision of the hardware in the Columbus. The software revision is denoted by the 4124 meaning it is quite a late revision. With V9 maps you will have 7 digit postcode search.

The battery drain issue is to do with the CAN GATEWAY. Earlier ones are not compatible with later revisions of Columbus as the CAN will not shutdown and cause the battery drain. You can get updated can gateways which fit behind the dash. Elsewhere on here also if you care to have a look.
