Mixed Bag for me moved up 1 place but my faith in British Engineering (Mclaren) and their seamingly unfathomable ability to develop a poor car into a race winner has let me down this season and im begining to worry that they have wrote this year off and are moving all resources onto the new Honda Turbo engines R&D.

^^ Maybe so but the new partnership with Honda doesn't begin until 2015. Perhaps they have progressed onto the 2014 car but will still have Merc engine next year.

As engines will be "the same" the most development goes into aero and in this rescpect it is entirely plausible Macca's written off 2013.

I think work will continue but it will not be all hands on deck type of effort but more akin to keeping your mouth just above the $hite level

To be fair they could spend very little on development in 2014 and still finish in the points most races retaining their sponsors. I would say because honda have been out of F1 for about 8 years then all hands will be on deck working up strategies and technology sharing between the two companies now not next year to make sure they hit the ground running in 2015.

Well that was an interesting race, broke the field up a bit with the tyre incidents and safety cars.

Right peeps, I did a swift clear up of non playing players (with their agreement I hasten to add) and the league now conists of 23 players. Slightly improves the scoring for those remaining.

 

JackClap and vrsvec took top honours this week with 16.5 pts each, including correct prediction of Vettel and Kimi for 1st and 2nd   Matty1 was just behind on 16.0 pts.

 

No changes in the top 3 this week but those points from JackClap and Matty1 moved them up 5 places each, with vrsvec jumping 3 places. Gadgetman also moved up 3. Losers this week include Will_G, Scribbler, MartynVRS and Coops (me)

 

7 points now separates 3rd from 4th, which is going to take some chasing in the latter half of the season.

Don't go on practice form. Most teams run reduced power to throw the competition into thinking they're struggling, then turn it up.

What has stuffed my picks up was Di Resta and Webber and with Hungaroring being a hard place to overtake I can't see them making that many places

Looks like the top 3 struggled in the league yesterday. Essjay took top honours with 17.5 points, techie and Simon83 came in 2nd and 3rd with 14.5 points. Current leader Rhino managed 10 points along with Rickyboy.

 

As a result, Oli3000 has swapped with Rickyboy, and SImon83 jumps up 3 places. Techie has moved up 4 places but despite taking the yellow cap Essjay remains 23rd. The top 3 do appear to be running away with it now!

much as I'm happy to see the points, I would have personally preferred to see it continuing to rain and Di Resta get pole, a bit like that British skier a few years ago who got a winter Olympic medal for being one of the first down before it started snowing and slowed down the favourites
