Lloydee,

can't speak for Skoda, but with Audi all we need to do is replace the column stalk and sometimes a small control unit behind the steering wheel and re-code - and it's all ok.

Can't see how it would be different for the Skoda seeing as how a,It's available as an option. b,It uses Audi switch gear and c,the same engine -- so don't see a problem

As for third party companies - AmD do retro cruise.

Maybe Big_K can confirm above... ?

If Bristol isn't to far, Roadworthy Skoda can fit it for you.

They fitted mine and have done about 8 -10 others.

Anyone know if a 1.6 can have CC fitted??

Yes... :)

Rob.

Cheers Rob:D

Was quoted 200 quid (or thereabouts) for it from my dealer/Awesome GTi - that is, my dealer would send it over to Awesome GTi to do the work... :) Was a very reasonable amount, but also equal to the cost of vaccinating 4 cats!

Bit out of the way from Surrey though, but try local dealer, then other VAG brands.

Although I do not own a Skoda, I had cruise control fitted to my Seat Leon Cupra by my dealer. I purchase a kit from APR as it was then, which consited of a switch (oe), a wiring loom, and instructions.

My Dealer fitted this in 2 hours, which for there first attempt was good. It required a change of switch, running the loom back to the ecu and switching on.

Which reminds me...looking through Octavia literature at my dealer, it lists CC as an option at

Welcome to Briskoda, Andy! :D The usual suspects will be on line soon congratulating you on choice of model and colour, so I will leave that to them.....rolleyes.gif

You know I kind of fancy cruise on my Fabia. I don't know how hard it is to set it's speed (some cruise controls look very complex) for the VAG one, but a few of the rental cars I've been in whilst in the USA and Canada have had it and it is a boon on long straight highways with an low speed limit of 55. The GM version comes in for praise. One touch of the cruise button on the steering wheel and the speed is mantained. It also had + and - buttons to increase/reduce your speed and a button that remembers you last set speed- press it and the car will automatically accelerate back to that speed. Fantastic device. Mind you the car did drink fuel, I remember just after filling it doing 100 miles in a day and seeing the needle noticably down to about a half tank. Not in my Fabia it wouldn't have but then again fuel here isn't

Welcome Andy to Briskoda, glad to see you have made the right choice........in buying a Skoda, couldn't possibly comment on Model or Colour.

When you've done a few thousand, make sure you follow Denis's lead and make a phone call to Jabba - book the remap, then book an appointment at the doctor's for about a week later to surgically remove the grin :D
