Are Skoda likely to have new offers in April?

Featured Replies

Sorry for posting this in the Citigo forum, but that's the car I am interested in. Does anyone how often Skoda change their finance offers? At the moment, the Solutions package just doesn't appeal, neither does a 3 year warranty (I need an auto, so want the peace of mind). A 5 year standard warranty would be much more attractive. At the moment, I don't want to commit to anything just in case there ae new offers in April, but at the same time, if they don't change, I am just wasting time, especially as I have seen a Peugeot 107 with only 2k miles on the clock for £2k less! I have contacted Skoda directly, but they said they won't know abut new offers until the end of the month, but I really need to know now.

5 year warranty is optional.

What don't you like about solutions? They charge interest but you get free servicing.

I'd make sure you test drove a 107 and a Citigo first, I think they're quite different!

I'v already tested the Citigo and like it. Solutions just seems like a glorified rental. I can see what's in it for the dealer but not for me (bar the free servicing). When you see other manufacturers offering 0% APR, 5 year warranties etc I wonder why Skoda can't be so aggressive. Maybe I am expecting too much. As for the 107, since I posted earlier I've been to have a look at it and the boot is tiny. Out of interest, if you had the choice, which car would you go for?

I posted back in June when we had the pre launch test drives of the Citigo and other competitors and noted that the Citigo, in every way was far superior to the 107, engine, build, handling etc. The cars felt worlds apart.

With regards to the finance, yes 0% would be attractive, just like Peugeot (for instance) 'just add fuel' (glorified lease) but personally and I could be totally wrong, VWFS probably don't need to, being as Skoda is one of the strongest brands at present and are bucking the trend with new cars sold.

If a PCP isn't your thing have a look at a straight HP, you still get the free servicing and low rate finance (circa 3% flat), then just add in £260 for a 5 year warranty.

Just my 2p's worth, but hope it helps.

Well, I'm a Skodaphile so I'm bound to say the Citigo but it is widely seen as a much better car (and so it should be because the design is a lot newer than the Peugeot)

The solutuons is technically a lease yes, but because of that it does mean the monthly payments are lower in the interim and you can opt to keep the car at the end should you wish to pay the remaining lump.

Thanks for your input; it has probably sealed the deal in terms of choosing the Citigo, now I just need a deal to suit.

I've had 2 pugs. Both were crap

I was told that if the deals change from ordering the car until taking delivery I could change over if the car I ordered qualified

We part exchanged our Citroen C1 (read 107, Aygo) and the Citigo is far better in every respect. We had major problems coming to the surface with the C1 after just over 20k miles - water ingress being the least. The C1/107/Aygo may have the excellent Totota three-pot engine, but the rest of the car is Citroen/Peugeot - not good!

I agree with all the above. The Citigo is much better.

The 107 is old and will have to be offered with incentives now but you will lose out when you trade it in.

I would go for the lower interest rate HP with free servicing, personally, but I would be looking for the 5 year warranty to be thrown in for 'free' - and I think you are right to go for it on an auto.

Good luck!

Same here - just ordered a Yeti last week and was told by the dealer that the deal was "price protected" meaning that any price increase between now and delivery would not apply to my order, however I would benefit from any price drops or offers that may appear after March.

You think a dealer would stretch to that? I was going to wait until the end of the month because I thought I might be able to get a better deal then, but that is exactly the kind of deal I am looking for.

Thank you for ALL the replies; I am now 100% settled on the Citigo thanks to you guys!

Shouldn't be a problem. I'd try and get mats and a spare wheel thrown in too :)

Sounds better and better! I have seen a PID online selling for £261 (www.theskodashop.co.uk), so I might see if they can match that too!

Will let you know how I get on!

I was told the mark up on an Elegance Citigo was around £450 for the dealer?

I guess you are right - it will depend when you buy - the time of the month thing.

I think WhatCar has a target price of about £300 to £400 off an up! which would make a move up! the same price as a Citigo se - not sure if that means the Skoda dealer would offer you a similar deal.

I would try for something extra thrown in for the full asking price rather than a 'discount', as it were.

WhatCar indicate that you can phone them to find a dealer to match their target price but sadly there is no indication (yet) of a lower target price on Citigo or Mii; I think that is because they have more info on the up! though - they are still pretty new.

SEAT have an offer on the Mii se £8990 with pid and parking sensors, so you might let the Skoda dealer know you are also considering that and see if he responds?

(If you do consider that remember that Skoda has 3 years European breakdown cover, SEAT 2 and VW 1 year and then there is the servicing if you go for HP).

Good luck!

I'd rather have the clap than a new peugeot.

Peugeot do offer some great deals but you've got to ask yourself why. My peugeot dealer knew me so well that he had a nice coffee waiting for me every monday morning......I might just have well worked there.
