If i purchase this what else would I need to do in order to get a map on my car? I am guessing I would obtain a file from my car send this too Shark - They mod the file and I put it back on the unit?

How much would this cost me from Shark anyone know?

you set the STS up to your car then download your ECU to the box, then contact Shark and send the file to them, then 24 hours later you will have your file back ready to upload to your car..

the STS also works as a code reader, and you can also do something to stop your car being started but i haven't got that far yet

Yeah you can immobilise the car with the unit. So even if someone breaks into your house and steals the key, they can't start the car. Handy if you go on holiday or leave the car alone for any other reason.

And just to confirm, the unit is unlocked (the original map has been put back on the car) and has been erased ready for a new map to be downloaded to it.

Than I have another question about it...will shark remap a new map for free or how much will that cost after an unlocked unit is obtained?

It won't be free, you will have to pay shark for the map. For prices, give them a call.

Will, this unit allow me to clear error codes regardless without getting the remap file from Skark?

I have an error code in my vRS after the body shop removed the door and caused an airbag error code so I want to clear that but it's my 1.8T Superb I'm thinking of remapping so I need it to do the clear job first.

Thereafter, can I use it for checking/clearing codes on either car or is it locked to the one I've remapped?

AFAIK it can clear codes on any car and you don't need to have done the map first.

Not sure if it will clear airbag errors though, never tried.
