Help with the MDI

Featured Replies

Our road signs give distances and speed limits in miles and MPH, what help do you suggest a very small digital KPH indicator may give to those who suffer the disadvantage of not understanding imperial measurements?

I'm afraid the problem here is that those who can only relate to meaurements directly related to the number of toes they have have persuaded themselves their preferred system is in some way better(a view they are entitled to)and wish it inflicted on those who disagree.

I am lucky enough to have grown up with both the 'Imperial' and 'metric' form of measurement and can quite easily convert between the two. My wife on the other hand (whilst far more intelligent than I am) cannot convert between them and I would say, she is representative of everyone I know who has grown up only knowing Metric. This is not simply a question of Mathematics, its about being able to quantify/perceive quickly your own speed/distance. So from a safety perspective, YES....a small digital KPH indicator makes a lot of difference. Think about braking distances ect !!!

Mark,

The discussion isn't about changing the headlights to "tourist" mode, but to the Maxidot display of KPH.

Sorry my mistake, what I meant to say was there is a squar with "ALT speed" and if you uncheck that it will change the speed from KPH to MPH or vise versa. My bad!!!

It doesn't do that in UK models, I'm afraid, as has been said many times on here.

What a load of hot air about nothing of any consequence ( KIA Sportage drivers would love the KMP on their displays )
