Falling out of love with the monster

Featured Replies

we had a leon as a hire car the other week. 2k on the clock, water in the headlights, leaking in the back, with wind whistling in the cabin. Build quality was awful.

Well had a drive in a Leon 1.2 very impressed at performance give the engine cc. Build quality seems good as well. Also impressed by the nav and colour mfd display.

told you the 1.2 was surprising didn't we?

Indeed but I think it really has to be driven to be believed. Didn't feel much slower in use than my 140 Yeti and was very similar to my previous Yeti which was the 110 version. The Leon is probably lighter as well.

Was impressed by how quiet the cabin was when driving and with stop/start it is really quiet when at lights etc. Even accelerating in 4th and 5th it pulls well.

What about a VW Up GT when it comes out?

Bit small

1. Fuel consumption, currently averaging about 30-31 mpg these days due to work commute and colder temperatures, I get similar mpg and miles to a tank as my wife but it costs me £25 more to fill up.

Thanks

How does it cost £25 more to fill up?

Wife's car has a 45 litre tank and petrol so 45 x 1.31= £58. Mine is 60 litre diesel so 60 x £1.40 = £84 so a difference of £26 so given we both get about 330 miles to a tank hers is cheaper to run.

Sorry but in your first post you said you both get similar MPG.

Where do you get fuel that cheap?
