Octavia Alignment Target Data - Hmmmmm

Featured Replies

There are lots of posts on here recommending the settings below for the Octavia vRS.

This information came from Briskoda forum and I queried a Skoda dealership when they used " old " data and not he new data as below..

My question to Skoda UK on their facebook page this week, and answered today 05/04/2013

Hi there

Please could you tell me when the Geometry settings for the Octavia were updated to this target data by Skoda.

Specifically I'm interested in the rear camber ( updated setting )

Thanks

So it appears that Skoda UK haven't got a clue when this information was updated.

I just wonder if the settings are made up by someone else and we are all using them like sheep.

So I would appreciate anyone " in the know " on here telling me where these figures came from and when. I will ask Skoda UK again if these are actually the current target data - as they omited that information.

Thanks

Eric

Well when I got mine, looking back through the service history it had got through a lot of tyres. Looking underneath and sure enough it was suffering the dreaded inner edge wear. Took it to Protyres in Blandford with the revised settings and the rears are wearing evenly across the tyre now. When they initially measured the camber both sides had more than 2 degrees negative camber.

Glad you got it sorted, a local skoda dealership are screwing me over big time at the moment. Charged me 70 quid for an alignment when the car has a knackered front suspension bush ( photo on my other post ). Complete waste of time and getting Trading Standards involved next week - then i'm gonna name and shame them everywhere.

But where did these revised settings come from ?

Not Skoda by the look of it - yet they are on this forum as if they have done .

IIRC they did come from Skoda but am struggling to find the original post. I am sure a TSB was issued at some point.

This is from memory...

I thought that PR-2UC on an RS remains unchanged at –1°45'±30'.

IIRC, the PR-2UC sports suspension option on a non-RS changed to –1°20'±30' not long after the introduction of the Mk2.

I.e. The PR-2UC code alone is not enough to determine the rear camber setting.

Going to get mine done soon when the summer 18" rims go on and I will get it adjusted to -1°20'.

Not had it checked since I fitted the B12s so it is probably miles out, but feels Ok on winters on 16" rims. Seeing as the winters will be toast anyway when they come off, about 4mm left, I wasn't worried about uneven wear until the new tyres get fitted.
