I think the thread was originally about design - not sure how Skylines or bugeyes achieve "design prettiness" :D

Skylines are beautifully brutish, I looked at an R34 in Northwich before I bought the Fabia (there's a contrast)

Impreza P1's have nice lines for what is essentially a 3 box design.

..... and the Black STi is a Blobeye btw, not a Bugeye :)

Whoops :o

I never did pretend to know much about them, but pretty they ain't :D

Brutish is just the right word for the Skyline. Looks like the designer started off with a big lump of charcoal, and never got round to sharpening a pencil.

All in the eye of the beholder :)

The skyline seems to cut through the air ok though (It's not a "beautiful car" agreed. I know of a guy from Visordown who a few years ago was flying (almost) down the Autoroute and got stopped by a roadblock ..... confirmed 193MPH in a very heavily modded R34.

Italian's always seem to have an "edge" in the styling department, look at Ducati's (Multistrada and S Range excepted ;) )

Alfa Romeo brera.... MMMM

Lambo Muira.... MMMMMM

Honda NSX in electric blue.. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

No thats art..lol.

What does the "Extreme" written in Tippex on the mesh indicate?

'Extreme' embarrassment maybe?

The sexiest lump of coal ive eve seen :)

As a study in design though, Skylines and Scoobys are hardly beautiful, they're basically saloon cars cars with extra bits bolted on, the basic shape isnt really much to write home about when compared to more exotic cars. Not taking away from them in terms of being aggressively styled, sure they look good in that respect, but as pieces of design I wouldnt rate them...

 which was my point - the thread went from "my top 3 pretty cars" to "my wish list of max power muscle cars". Just trying to get it back on track (groan).

Lambo Miura (mentioned)

Lambo Gallardo (perfect supercar, gorgeous jaw dropper)

Fiat Barchetta (lovely little sports car that wouldn't look out of place on anyones drive)

Cars that simply look good and people would look and admire.

One of the best tests is to see if a girl likes the look of it.My wife finds it hard to differentiate between boxy type cars but,see a stunning car and she will point them out :D

Three I rather like...

I've always had a yearning for one of these:

I admit it's not "of the moment", though :o

PS Rob that Skoda coupe is beautiful!

 They should definitely do a modern "interpretation" of it...

Hmmm.Missed the 'of the moment' bit! scratch miura.DB9 is a job well done.

Nick, what's that? Is it a form of Jensen?

Rob,which is the skoda coupe?

The third one...not "of the moment" either, though there is one in the Skoda Museum - if it's still in existance I'm going to argue it's of the moment... :D

Rob.

What about a Shelby Daytona Coupe?

Nope but similar. It's a Cobra in gentleman's evening dress. Known as the AC428. Front end is remarkably similar to the Jensen Healey don't you think?

My 1966 Observer's Book of Automobiles describes it as "low, graceful car with bodywork by Frua". Well done Frua, I say! :D (I can't remember the rest of the description, the book's at home)

One of my all time favourite cars the 130rs homologation special, all that was good about old skodas,1300 engine 8 port head, carb fed, and capable of winning the european touring car championship (2 years in a row I believe) and placing top 3 for 4 years. Up against the best of BMW and v12 Jags :), yes this one is just replica, but that car has one seriously nice shape, I came so close to building one, but didnt have the heart to cut up the 110r I had purchased, so let someone else take it away to turn it into a show car. I was also aware of a genuine one for sale, but the price made a good 911 look cheap :D

Dont think I would go for any lairy paint schemes, even if it used for racing, a nice plain red would do me :)

Couldnt see the 130rs pic you posted there ugluk, but did a google for one, nice looking car, very similar to 70's porsche racers don't you think, very nice lines to it.

Interestingly that's completely different...

That 130RS isnt quite the same as the car that left the skoda factory :) however it is supposed to be reasonably quick, the factory 130rs didnt have the sloping bonnet or as much spoilery the arches were rounded etc, will dig out another picture.

Thought I'd just pop in a vote for this one:
