  • A few photos quickly taken on the iPhone

  • Well after not posting for a few months i thought its about time to give a six month of the 1st briskodian Octy 3. I'm loving the race blue it suits the modern lines of the octy 3 well and I now see

  • Because on other forums people only ask for help, they don't share like this community does. Proud that I discovered this forum and proud to be part of it.

Looking forward to seeing the photos. So that's the 1.4 140ps with cylinder deactivation? What's the unit like in terms of smoothness and can you detect when the cylinders shut off/come back in?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it is possible to use Siri in any capacity? Is there any equivalent voice control?

Hi Yeti_man in Skoda form the 140ps 1.4 doesn't get the cylinder deactivation but appears lovely and smooth, it's quicker off the Mark than the CR 170bhp vRS and revs freely but I won't be pushing it too much for the first few hundred miles

I don't think you can use Siri but in Elegance trim there is voice control but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet as there is so much more toys to play with than my vRS !

Thanks. I'd be interested to know how you get on with anything like that. I've been making do with a little belkin thing (car audio connect) to stream music and make calls via my iphone and am interested to know if I can dump it when I change my car!

Magnificent car, congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Great photos - thanks for taking the time. I always prefer to see non press shots of a new vehicle! :) Surprised it didn't get the cylinder deactivation! So what engine does it actually have? An uprated 122bhp as found in the Yeti and similar or an all new unit?!

Looks nice!

Not keen on the interior colour, but each to their own! :)

It's the same engine just without the cylinder deactivation so it's mpg is slightly worse, still very good if the journey home is anything to go by.

Very nice, the colour really suits the angular lines of the mkIII. Bet this becomes one of the most popular colours........if your photos are anything to go by. As you've just swapped it for the vRS 170cr which I've currently got I'll be interesed to know how you find the newer more powerful 1.4 performs in the lighter mkIII once you've run it in and start giving it a stretch as I had the 122 ps 1.4 in the mkII and found the 170cr in a different class performance wise. The mkII 1.4 was good up to 40/50 but IMO lacked mid range grunt for real world overtaking on A roads so It'll be interesting to see what you think. Looking forward to the reply and enjoy your new car

It's lovely  SWMBO now tells me she is not sure about the colour!! I tell her too late, mine went into production today! I also tell her, my car, my money, my choice!... and she can keep her Anthracite Octy II as long as she likes so my side of the drive will be a much brighter place!!

I'll let you know littleade, it appears quite smooth, punchy and revs easily despite being tight. It's quicker off the mark than the CR as you would expect and it's claimed 0-60 time should be good enough for me. I've read a few reports of the 140 ps engine in the Golf that were very complimentary, time will tell. As A road overtaking is something that it'll be required to do I'll keep you posted!

Have to be honest, myself and the girlfriend were just looking at the photos and we aren't really fans of Race Blue on the new Octavia. We both loved it on the mk 2 (and as such ordered one and owned it for two years). The light interior looks great to us though so we'll consider going for this on ours. :)

To be honest the pictures don't do it justice, it looks too dark in them, each to their own it'd be boring if we all picked the same :) I'm really happy with the interior to looks really classy in the flesh!

Ta, look forward to hearing about your experiences. I recon it'll be very nice and sooooooo smooooooooooooth :) and performance wise a big improvement on the 1.4 mkII

Very nice!

V nice, Race Blue looks nice on the new one.

Im not keen on the Ivory leather myself though and I still wouldnt personally have an Elegance MK3 over my Blackline MK2; maybe with standard black cloth alcantara, sports suspension, Golus wheels and a 3 spoke wheel it would suit me better. 1.4 TSi without doubt a great choice though.

A very nice colour combination. Enjoy the new car.

excellent. should get my race blue elegance cr2.o in another month. is yours lowered or standard suspension?

Looks awesome!!

Congrats....it looks really nice, sounds like you are enjoying.

I'm a little bit worried by the issue with the sat nav etc but suspecting this may be the dealer? Will have to keep an eye out for it when I pick mine up.

Thanks for posting pics.

Hi carrock it's standard suspension I ordered before I knew all the option details but given I was trying to keep the deal as cheap as possible I don't personally think I'd have ordered the Sport suspension. I've got to have an excuse to get a vRS again in a couple of years ;) .... Or maybe a scout!

Dealers is very good, just the car is so new they're not used to them yet mine being the first to be handed over by them. I had to tell the salesman he needed to get the SD card!
