  • Well after not posting for a few months i thought its about time to give a six month of the 1st briskodian Octy 3. I'm loving the race blue it suits the modern lines of the octy 3 well and I now see

Matt Pez when did you order your Octy and what spec did you want? I ordered mine on 15th March

2.00TDi DSG elegance in race blue with Xenon as yet no build date

Hi from Spain. I ordered mine on 5th April and last week my dealer told me the build date is week 20 (May 20th-24th). It`s a TSI Elegance with the 140bhp engine, with just a few options (xenon, alarm, driving mode selection, simply clever Pack, metallic paint). Maybe the DSG takes longer. Let's be patient, I know it's easier said than done.

Congratulations, I test drove a Golf with the same engine last January and it was great, that's the reason I chose it. But mine is still more than one month away at least,,,

Enjoy the driving!

Just been for another play setting up the various options to my liking. I've disabled the convenience window option as I've never used it and on my previous car I came back to find all 4 windows open. DRL set to on; light assist set to medium until I've had a chance to see it in action; central locking set to open all doors with one click and folding mirrors set to automatically fold

Hmm nice - looking forward to getting mine soon (1.4tsi SE in petrol blue did consider the race blue as well) - was told it was due to be built this week - to replace my 7 year old Octy mk II 1.6fsi elegance which has been a top car for me, if the new one is as good I will be a happy bunny.

Looks lovely, but the ride height of a 4x4, ( think you ordered Scout suspension ! :bandit::giggle: ) why in the videos and photos are they just the right ride height

First day at work in the new car, indicated 52 mpg( it'll be a while before I can confirm brim to brim) both ways consisting of 23 miles of A road, 55-60 mph in normal mode. The stop start system appears better than the one I had in a mini a few years ago, starting instantly the clutch is pressed while the mini had a bit of lag before starting and occasionally wouldn't restart! Beginning to like the sat nav more after a decade of TomTom use, like the easy touch screen scale change and how it tells you of major road works on the road ahead. Loving the maxi dot, having never having one on all my previous octys, I couldn't see why people raved about it but I'm now a convert!

That's a really nice car mate, love the colour!

Nice, but needs rear spoiler, some vRS badges and like others, not sure about ivory inside.

I love the ivory interior looks and feels very classy, may get a boot spoiler though once they are available :)

Looks great inside looks classy.but be interested to know how long these starter motors last on cars fitted with stop/start

Certainly no hint of a problem with mine after nearly 4 years... (Locates wood to touch).

Stokey - can you tell me what revs it sits at in sixth gear at the national speed limit please? Th 1.4tsi is my preferred choice still but it's going to be sitting at higher speeds a bit so I'm keen to know its got long legs! Thanks.

No problem, once I take it out on a run again I'll let you know

Looking at the photos of the driver footwell does it have the foot rest to the right hand side of the throttle pedal that my MK2 has? The throttle looks quite close to the side but its hard to tell from the photos. This foot rest in mine is my favourite feature as it serioulsy helps with avoiding fatigue on longer journeys. If new one doesnt have it then the new mk3 is off my list unfortunately.

They've done away with the floor hinged accelerator pedal as they have with the mk7 Golf.....I like it so think thats a bit of a shame. Cost cutting I guess.

I must admit it took a day or so to get used too after over seven years with a floor hinged accelerator!

stokey, that's a seriously nice looking motor you've just got yourself there, congrats!

I'm going to buck the trend and say I really like the ivory leather interior :)

Just went out for a drive for the sake of it, it's been a long time since I've done that but I'm loving the car!, and ended up buying the wife a new car!! We were planning to just brouse a few garages but ended up buying a Seat Ibiza Toca at the first garage we visited after a good test drive for £8990!

The drive gave another opportunity to play with the Octys toys, loving the sat nav. The only negative is when I go to apply the handbrake I keep missing it as it's the wrong place, I'm sure I'll soon get used to it but I'm sure shorter drivers may find it not to their liking

One of the many things I like with my MkII vRS is that the handbrake is on the right side. My volvo C30 had it on the left and it annoyed me so I hope it's not as bad in the new Octy.

Sarge.

I didn't get up to 70 yesterday due to traffic conditions but 60 in 6th was was a fraction over ( say 50 rpm) 2000 rpm... And very quiet!

Did she go for a matching blue! :giggle: Re the handbrake, the Berb is the same but when I get in the wife's Octy II, I keep missing so should not be a problem for me in the new one!

No mate she had a matching blue Aygo and has swapped for Candy White, the colour of my old vRS!

No worries. I guess 70mph would sit at around 2250 ish. Pretty good for a relatively small capacity 1.4. My 1.8tsi sits higher than that I'm pretty sure! Have you done any sustained cruising at the national speed limit yet? If so, any idea of how realistic the published mpg figures are? Thanks. :)
