Did your map update complete OK when you got the battery re-charged?

It was Ashfan who had that issue. I wouldn't imagine it would be a major issue as the maps update is just copying data to the hard drive, it shouldn't break the unit in the same way a firmware update might.

Thanks - relieved to hear that things should have gone OK, then, for him. Have seen the forlorn faces of folks with various 'bricked' devices, where battery has failed during a firmware update.

Yes thanks. The system was playing up so I put my original 6.1 maps back on and then had another go with my version 7918? I think that's the number anyway

I have upgraded to 3180b with no issues. I can't get my Map disk to finish saving to the HDD but that's another story.
