Vrs wheels...A1 or scratched?

Featured Replies

It's only one wheel shown but it looks A1 to my eyes. Best of luck :)

Looks like there's a scuff mark on the pair of spokes on the right hand side of the pic? May just be a trick of the light though, but I suspect a decent refurbisher could sort it out for not much money :D

Yep and I just noticed some odd looking bronzy markings around the lower spoke I think I am going to leave well alone.........shame though

The marks on the right look like water marks to me, and the bottom mark could just be where dirt had collected whilst in storage but not cleaned off properly.

I agree looks just like water marks when blown up.

I saw that but thought it may be a shadow (due to the cleanliness of the rest).

Firstly I'd like to appologise to those who I outbid for these wheels, I badly need new rubber and my 16" wheels are peeling due to work done on them. So if I was ever going to have 17's on the skud this was the last chance, so I thought it was worth chancing it.

After the bidding I emailed the seller for some more pictures of the wheels & tyres, I know the bidding had finished but it was easier than getting the wheels shipped to Ireland and then finding out the condition and having to arrange them being returned. I also wanted to finialise shipping.

The reply I got was, do you want these wheels or will I put them up for auction again  .

I replied calmly saying I wanted pictures to see that the description giving was accurate, after all plenty people had concerns about them here. I did try emailing about 4 times in 2 days prior to the bid without any reply.

A reply followed saying that the seller was away and it was his friend had been looking after things  . He had a number to contact him, so I did. I explained about the photos and he seemed okay about it and told me he'd send me some pictures today, he said they were only a few miles on them and they were off a relations car (I think he said), which had 19's put on. Before I could ask anymore he asked me if it was okay if he could ring me back (there sounded like an arguement in the background), so I said no problems.

Today I didn't recieve pictures and haven't heard from him, I did send him a text earlier but didn't get a response from that either.

I know the bidding only finished on Thursday night but surely the guy would like his money.

I haven't paid any money yet, Anyone know what kind of come back you have if things don't arrive etc, I'd be paying with Paypal.

Should I get him to pay for shipping (and include the lot) or should I ?

Can you get money back through Paypal ?

Is there anything wrong with me wanting to verify the description of the wheels with pictures before paying ?

Any tips/suggestions appreciated

If your not happy, don't pay but close down your paypal account ASAP, if he complains first they freeze your account and can then take any funds from it.

to compensate him.

I'd try again to get pictures or some better assurance that they are indeed A1

what doesn't fill me with much enthusiasm for this auction is the amount of broken / damaged / spares / repairs cars in the other auctions. I smell a breaker! I also smell a breaker using one good wheel off a vRS scrapper without the other three to back it up.

More suspicious than someone trying to sell "leather" horse riding boots too.:o

Yea I reakon he is a breaker alright, one of the GPS items is out of his "Recovery truck", but the wheels could be genuinely good.

I have no problem paying for the good if they are what he said they are but surely it makes sense for me to ask for details to save someone pulling a fast one. That save me, the seller & Ebay hassle as there is no issues with faultly goods.

Surely ebay can't make you pay for items that differ from what they are advertised as ?

Maybe he's not up to speed with PC's etc I know when I first tried phoning him his phone was in a friends house (the guy said the seller forgot it). Anyway the guy I spoke to said he had taken the picture of the wheel.

I haven't giving him reason to report me, I told him there's no problem with funds as long as the pictures confirm the description.

Hi

No problem I didn't bid in the end, the description, the other items for sale and the fact that he wouldn't answer e-mails worried me....shame really as if genuine they were a good buy, hope you get it sorted...maybe some one from here could run round and check for you ...I think the seller was in Manchester

I'd be happy to go and check the wheels out for you and let you know the condition, I live north manchester and work south manchester so it wouldnt be much trouble.

I was the one who bid

What a mess, I'm just glad I was out bid now, sounds dodgey to me.

Best of luck old pal.

MikeF,

I'd really appreciate that, assuming the seller agrees. (If he has nothing to hide then he shouldn't). Can you PM me your details (email address contact number) so I can give you a shout if he's willing to have them looked at?

I emailed him again earlier outlining things which have to be sorted. I'll keep a copy of everything I send so it shows I was genuine about the purchase. Surely the guy wants a speedy transaction ????????? My heart says they are genuine but my head is telling me otherwise.

Its amazing the difference, I bought a Video on Sunday which has been paid for and was posted today.

Gaff, Sorry to here its going a bit pear shaped.

I getting f***ing pi**ed off with this now.

All I asked is for a couple of photos which would only take a few minutes to do. I hear f**k all from him in 2 days and then he starts this **** of giving me a timeling after saying he'd send pictures.

Sellers 1st reply today

"look, the wheels are as good as i say,im to busy to send photos, there is only four.no spare.now i was under the impression you was wanting them taking to heywood.they are brand new.so do you want them or not.they are what they say.it all comes down to trust.and i dont think you trust me.if this is the case, then dont deal with me."

My reply

"Its not that I don't trust you, I just want to make sure before getting them shipped (I do honestly think they are as good as you say).

What a f*cking idiot...

Sounds like a imature, or ill educated ******...

I hope it works out for you

You've hit the nail on the head there, see below. The problem is I still really want/need these wheels. I even tried phoning him this morning after the below mails and he eventually hung up on me (a I didn't even loose the head).

My Reply

"Hard work, tell me about it, my head is wrecked with all this. I'm sick of it at this stage, I've spent the last 7 days looking into this, Wednesday ringing to find out how much shipping would cost, the 2 days before the bids sending you emails with no reply and the last 5 ringing, texting and emailing you without replies. I want to get it sorted out just as much as you but I'm not going to buy something because you say its great and put me under pressure to buy it or else.

8pm tomorrow evening is unrealistic, please be reasonable. I don't even have 24hours to organise it and due to it being so late theres no way I could with such late notice. I'd have to make contact through email which takes time.

I can't understand why your being so unreasonable about all of this, all I ask for is a couple of photos. After all a picture tells a thousand words ! You'd have them taken and emailed by the time you wait for someone to call and look at them. You initially said you would send them on Monday, if you had then you'd have your money by now. How the hell do you expect me to trust someone I don't know, and especially when he says one thing and then won't do it ie photos ? You want me to send you

what a muppet. I think its time to report him to ebay.

I want to see his new Ebay listing and see him sell them for

What a frickin a$$hole!!!!! Crap like this from people who hide behind the internet make me wanna go all "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" - hunt them down and give them good kicking!!

Grrrrr.....
