Adding Heated Seats to my Vrs

Featured Replies

I'm adding heated seats to my Vrs as I had them in my Golf and missed them

I sourced the parts from Skodateile

I have changed the Climate Panel already

and yesterday I took the plunge and done this to my passenger seat

seat2-1_zps734fbf18.jpg

Took ages to do but I managed to put the seat back together, drivers seat next and the wiring

Guide on how to do it

Cost

Skodateile = 270 Euro + Bank Transfer fee

Consists of loom, 6x heating pads, Control box and Seat looms

Climate Panel £85

Very interested in this (why did not not get the other climate control panel from you grrrrr)

What sort of cost is it looking like at the moment?

I may end up just using an after market kit instead as they are so cheap, just have not found a good place to put the switch for them that does not look out of place.

Looks good Ed. Very much looking forward to having one of the only, if not the only VRS Blackline with factory heated seats in the UK!

Just in time for summer!

Can't believe how expensive they are from retro fit outfits - nearly 600 quid!

Think I'll put some heated covers on for next winter: 12 quid Amazon...

Or nick my Mrs motor that has them as standard.

Shouldn't cost that much to retrofit non VW ones. I got some for our S-Max for 60 from eBay and then got a local trimmer to fit then for £100 then just had wire them up which was simple enough

Is the loom already there to plug in to? Where did you source the climate panel?

Good mod, I think I might be tempted as the last few cars have had them and they are good in winter!

The loom from the seats to the climate and fusebox is included in the skodateile price

Climate panel I got from my supplier

Did you snap any of the clips removing the covers or were you able to get them all off OK?

I cut some as it was easier to do, but the majority I removed and reused them. I bought spares about 20p each so not a huge expense.

I used 2x angled long nose pliers

You are a clever buggr Eddie-NL! You've done some great OEM mods, wish I had your skillset!

Eddie... Any chance of more climate panels? Or better still a full kit? My vrs is going to get seat surgeon'd soon and have been planning to fit seat heaters at the same time

LOL even better reply Eddie :)

Your some man for tinkering about :)

When I had my OctaviaII interior retrimmed in leather by Seat Surgeons I could have had seat heating fitted too. I didn't ask Paul what kit he uses but it might be worth asking.

Nice work Ed - always nice to have a bit of seat heating
