Hi all,

I'll be quick in my first post here. Yeti finally arrived last week (the matto brown + black roof combo looks much better in real life than expected!) And I eagerly ordered some bits from Superskoda which arrived today (took them just three days from placing my order, by regular and free of charge airmail!)

So my simple question to those who already have pimped up their Yetis (and I did search for about an hour this forum just now):

Is the adhesive tape I see on the parts enough to fit them or I need additional adhesive/glue (what type if yes?)

I have bought: the fog/day light chrome frames; rear emblem cover Bigfoot; rear tail lights chrome lids.

I also bought the Skoda original front bumper short trims but realized I got the wrong (silver) ones instead of the chrome and will try replacing them now (these however have just a tiny bit of adhesive on them and need to be glued as I read in the supplied installation booklet). Lastly I got the new Skoda logo for the front grille but I found a very instructive post here on how to fit that.

I did email Superskoda as well but no answer from them so far and this definitely has to be a weekend project so any tips are much appreciated!

cheers and have a great weekend,

Angel

Google 'Tigerseal' for the best adhesive for attaching these parts.

The tape doesn't cut it in our environment!

Thank you Merlinman.

Googled it and see it's a sealent from the PU group so will try figure out some equivalent by Dow or 3M from the hardware store as I can't wait for the internet delivery! :)

i've not had any problems with the sticky on the bigfoot cover, think tigerseal might cause fit problems there, everywhere else it's the best option.

Yes Tiger Seal is the answer, many threads have confirmed this. Look at my link to my gallery on my signature to see what bling is on mine

The PU sealers you find at the local hardware shed for home DIY are not the same as Tigerseal or it's equivalent AUTOMOTIVE adhesive sealant, so please beware.

I've used the pads that came with the stainless steel front bumper trims & real bumper protector, and they've both held perfectly well, so in my opinion you don't need any extra adhesive.

All I would say is make sure the surface you're adhering to is thoroughly cleaned, and dried with a lint free cloth first. I was lucky to do mine in brilliant sunshine which really helped.

I found some top mod sites use Tigerseal also Wurth products

I stuck sill protection mouldings on with the recommended Wurth

Wurth Bond + Seal

Wurth Spray B+S Remover

Wurth Spray B+S Activating cleaner

These three items ordered from Ebay worked a treat

The Golden rule to stick anything on the car warm air temp and perfect clean surface leave to dry 24 hours

I would also really like some chrome surrounds to the air vents and the door handles - Superskoda do door handle surrounds but they are in the duller silver colour. I don't suppose anyone knows of any other source? And presumably there aren't any VW or Audi parts that are the same shape and dimensions? I'm not a blingy person (honest!), but I do find the chrome surrounds I have fitted to the a/c control area and the cup holder gives quite a lift to the black interior, and I don't think a little more chrome would do any harm.
