It was an outside influence that told him to speed............use the force Luke, use the force!! Or something like that

LOL!

Look, you admited you did it; don't try and rationalise it, just learn from the experience. I'm considerably older than you and have probably done more stupid things than you whilst driving. I did the crime, I took the punishmment, that's the way it should be.

Admitedly when I was driving like a pratt, seems like only yesterday ;) , there weren't cameras around and you had to get stopped by a copper. Luckilly you could talk your way out of them too (well, sometimes).

For the record, I got nicked doing 96 on the M4 2 weeks after passing my test, only had a copy of the pass cert to show. Got 3 points and

I agree with the majority I am afraid, whilst I could add to what they have said, I am not going to... As for letting your Mum take the blame?! That is just wrong :thumbdwn: anyway I wont go on but...

...If you were doing an indicated 70mph chances were caught doing an actuall 66-67mph, which would take it below 30mph over the limit, could be wrong though.

Come on, no need to take the ****.

He's been caught speeding and possibly has lost his licence. I don't see a need to rub it in any more.

I'm sure most of us have or do speed. The only thing I found stupid was the whole 'letting his Mum take the blame'. I'm sure he's realised thats not an option now.

edit: whoops came out a bit late, but still...

See, I ain't a sanctimonious tw@

Sez you! :haha:

Let's cut Richie some slack now - sounds like he's taken enough of a bashing for tonight...

:orb_angel Ahh but then some of us :D

Still reckon he should buy a gun ;)

PLEASE NOTE - IT IS VERY UNWISE TO TRY CHASING A BLACK 1.4 OCTAVIA AT ALLEDGEDLY ILLEGAL SPEEDS ROUND MOUNTAIN PASSES IN WALES, ESPECIALLY IF THE BLOKE IN THE BLACK CAR DECIDES HE'S HAD ENOUGH OF SITTING ON CRUISE CONTROL AND YOU HAPPEN TO BE DRIVING A FABIA

This has been a public service announcement on behalf of the Sanctimonious Tw@ Party

 @ the sanctimonious tw@

Richie check this out

A friend has checked and been clocked twice recently. Did you know that

recent Government legislation changing the Freedom of Information Act gives

you access to speed camera offences registered within the last twelve

months, and placed on a freely-available website? Also, every time your car

goes even over a mile or so over the speed limit, it is registered and

placed on the database?

They only send you a ticket if you are way over, OR (and here's the rub), if

you receive over twenty near-misses. You can now check how many you have

against your car's registered number.

Go to "www.e-database.co.UK". It will ask you for a password, but just click

on "need a password or login" link and you will be given one in a pop-up

window.Make a note of the login and password and enter your registration

number to see if you have been clocked

In the top right-hand corner, there is a click-on window that even shows the

picture taken by the camera!

they wont see a 5 page thread!

I wish the poor lad good luck with his exam tomorrow - he could well do without this hovering over him.

With any luck, the camera will have clocked him at a lower speed (actual speed at an indicated 70 could be as low as 62-63 which is - hopefully - well out of the "you've been a very naughty boy" category [with apologies to Month Python].

wanderer, I thought it was a legit searc :( until I checked the damn picture.

Oh well, I wait patiently

oops... Noticed the link had already been posted

hey people,

I passed about december, but have only been on the road about a month or so ago driving my fabia.

Ok, to the point, I was driving to Wales from Essex at around 12:30am last Friday and along the way there on the M4, there was roadworks, but no one was actually working. I was doing 70mph, but the speedlimit was 40mph. I was driving this speed throughout the roadworks and didnt see a camera, and as I drove along, I wasnt really looking out for them anymore and before I knew it, I saw two flashes  ba*t*rds!! :finger:

Any chance of there being no film in the lame camera? Also, it's 3 points off the licence and a

Richie,

Good luck with your exam today.

Richie,

I also hope that this experience hasn't put you off the exam, as that definitely isn't part of the penalty.

But you must not even consider letting your mother take to rap for this. Apart from the legal penalties (perjury, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice) for which you could both be put away, you must learn to take responsibility for your own actions. You will then be a better driver and a better man.

Good luck

Sal

On the other hand I got let off for 138 round the M25' date=' 128 along a B road in Gloucestershire, 110 along the A39 (at the same time as driving recklessly and danderously, he even offered me the choice of what I got booked for :D )[/quote']

Presume you were test driving a vauxhall vectra v6 for the police then :)

We have all done itthough. My only penalty was 15 years ago.59 in a 30 on a deserted road after midnight.Wasn't racing or rushing.Didn't even realise I was doing it :o Breathalised too (it was xmas so thats what the police were after.Obviously I was fine on that front!) embarrassing though. 3 points and

I think you should buy a gun :D

These people who make you swerve by their mere presence' date=' flashing you, tailgating you and encouraging you to speed are all obviously the agents of Satan and deserve to be wiped from the face of the planet!

Get a gun my boy, get a big gun. It's the only language these inconsiderate ba5tards understand! Trust me, give 'em both barrels in a broadside and the wanchors will never do it again! :grumpy:

Oh and when you get to court, just tell them you wre doing it for Jesus, 'cos Jesus hates tailgaters! :D

HTH[/quote']

 tavia you make me chuckle no end sometimes!

Richie what ever happens take in on the chin and learn from it. Next time when your on the road and you feel like your being hounded and pushed to go faster than you want to, then just pull over and take sometime to calm down.

Some good advice would be to just roll of your speed abit if you are being tailgated, dont tap the brakes or increase your speed. The tailgater will get the message and pass you.

If you go to court put on your best school boy act and say your very stupid and very sorry if your lucky you may get away with just a small ban.

Good luck

So, did the exam go OK?

Did you buy a gun? :D

i got 3 points and 60 fine for 70 in a 40 roadworks on a dc at night when no one was there

also 3 points and 60 for 99 on the m1 well thats what he did me for not what i was doing thank god
