Foglight dangling down

Featured Replies

Bad surprise saturday afternoon. Getting off my '09 car I noticed my LH foglight assy dangling down, only retained by the foglight and driving light cables.

Close inspection quickly (and easily) revealed the cause: the RH retaining clip was broken.

I don't remember bumping the foglight in these few days of ownership and I don't believe anybody else did and in fact neither the foglight nor the spoiler/bumper show any sign of hits.

Local dealer refused to change it in guarantee as he said "it was surely hit".

Only advantage in having him inspect the car was that he found the piece of broken clip - which I presumed gone forever - fallen into some recess of the bumper.

Before ordering a new foglight (€ 80 from the dealer, € 41 "non OEM" shipped from third party on ebay), I'd like to try and repair it with a strong glue (and maybe a strip of duct tape).

Actually, I could even tape the whole assy inside the bumper...

Has anybody else experienced same problem? "Repaired" or changed?
