New Wind deflectors

Featured Replies

Preparing for my next trip away made me think about some of the lessons learnt on my last adventure, and one of the core things was purchasing wind deflectors for Kasper so my lower arm/door is not soaked everytime I open my window.

So with this in mind I ordered a set from 'that' internet auction site(apparently you don't have to have a paypal account-fear averted!)

This is the product: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1497.l2649 the seller was towequipe, but the fleabay price was £20 cheaper than thier website.

I've just fitted them and they actually look pretty good to my eyes, 15mins to fit (over half of that on the first one) and there seems to be no problem.

Will let people know how they fair with the water issue, but as we (hopefully) get to window open time, I thought maybe other members might be interested.

I would attach some pictures, but it seems far to complicated.

As to whether they would deflect wind of the Bob variety, this has also yet to be tested!

I've got wind deflectors fitted to the front only (and a different European make) and find they stop what others found a problem with water obscuring the side mirrors, but I rarely open the windows more than an inch.

How do you pay the Severn Bridge toll to get back into god's country? Don't tell me you go all the way round Gloucester or up the M6 just to avoid it?

Mrs Bobdog wants to know where she can buy a set of wind deflectors ... :moon:

Mike, I did say "rarely". :giggle:

I see WAG are trying to pressurise Westminster to stop them (tolls), after Westminster stated they intend to extend them by another 10 years :@

A question for you, Angrybeard...

On the front ones, does the trailing edge tuck into the window channel or are they held by a bracket on the outside of the door?

On mine, the trailing edge does tuck into the window channel, there is a small metal inverted U shape piece that pushes up and hold the deflector away from the internal edge of the seal to allow the window to close. Once fitted, the metal piece is not visible.

That's what mine are like.

As loftypeak says, they tuck into the window

Hopefully these links allow you to see the fit. They are really easy to fit though, didn't test tonight after the rain, as I thought I'd give them time to settle into place, but it is a bank holiday weekend ahead!

They have also just announced that the Cleddau Bridge tolls are to remain. It is only 70p each way but must be a bind to those who live over Pembroke side of the county and need to get to civilisation in Haverfordwest.

Thanks Angrybeard.

I've had the Climair ones fitted for the last 3 years and they use the outside bracket.

Never really liked them much so order just placed for these.

Can't have used parts on the new car, can I. ;)

Cheap as chips eh! :)

Got a set. Thanks angrybeard. :sun: Not a criticism of the supplier or the part but I wish that the instructions were better for a ham fisted numpty. :giggle:

Imagine my surprise when the courier delivered the parcel, with the wind deflectors in, this morning!

I ordered them at 10 yesterday morning.

That's what I call prompt service :)

I agree. The only instructions with mine were very basic and printed on the plastic wrapping.

I found a link to this video on another site, different company, different deflectors, different car, but exactly the same process, especially the 'helping the windows up'

Good video thanks for that.

As I've bought the Heko ones, I've got a pair (fronts only) of 2nd hand Climair ones going begging if anyone wants them.

** SOLD **

I contacted towequipe and they said they've got none in stock - how come I'm always too late to jump o to these things?

Many thanks to CFB, a good and kind man-whose Muscavado is awaiting replacement -looking forward to seeing its' replacement!

I like the idea of wind deflectors, but do they create wind noise when driving at speed. I recall having earlier ones fitted to a Sierra and had to remove them because of additional wind noise on motorways, have they improved enough for the noise problem to be a thing of the past?

Having driven a hand full of Skodas with wind deflectors I cannot personally say that I've noticed extra/excessive wind noise.

I'd rather have the radio up an extra notch or 2 than my right leg dripping wet

Note to the smutty crew: The above comment is purely down to water ingress through the window whilst moving, nothing, I repeat, nothing else :D

Jon B

Not noticed any great increase in noise.

Lee

Corner.........NOW!!

Thanks for the advise; I have ordered HEKO-28333 - 2 piece Wind Deflectors fits Skoda YETI for delivery Saturday I will let you know how they perform and how easy they are to fit

That's a like to the first part of your post Graham.

I was trying to stop any innuendos before they started :giggle:

Has bob got the wrong glasses on? ;)

BOT... When I fitted them, I didn't notice much difference but having just taken them off, I can report that they reduce wind noise some.

My main reason to have them was like Lee. I don't like dripping on my leg, its for roasting potatoes.
