Minor dentage...

Featured Replies

Someone's kindly opened their car door onto the 'ol Yeti this weekend.... :@

Hardly seems worth doing anything about, maybe I can unfasten the wheel arch liner and push it out myself.

That's a real pain in the btm. Some people have no concern about others property. Hope you get it sorted.

I suffered something very similar with my previous SM just two days after collecting it. Very annoying - but have good local bodywork man (independent, old-timer) who sorted it for me (including a little bit of paint repair that was necessary) for £60, so not too painful.

£60 is a good deal. I had three dings sorted on my Tiguan and the best I got was £350....cash.

It really annoying the carelessness of some people. Personally I'd pay to get it fixed as it looks like the paint is damaged. Dent people can work wonders in dents but not when paint is affected

Dent devil or a local similar type of firm should sort that.Another reason to invest in "Urban Trim" for such events happening. Some car owners have no respect for OP,s cars these days.

Tony

Agreed - I used a "dent wizard" bloke for 3 similar dents on one of my cars, £60, bargain.

hate the little dents, no one else notices them but you do and it bugs you to hell, hope it gets fixed soon and it doesn't den't you wallet to much either

A couple of weeks ago whilst waiting for "her indoors" in the Supermarket I noticed two cars pull in beside earlier parked cars and allowed their doors to touch/rub parked cars whilst the removed toddlers from rear seats. I was glad mine was no where near them as I learned some years ago when parked at PC World during a fiercely strong wind. I retuned to find an eight inch straight line ding on my passenger door, where someone had obviously let the wind pull the door from their grasp and into mine. Needless to say they had driven off. I was landed with a £650 bill and now park as far away as possible when at retail parks

I find no matter how far away I park some one always seems to want to park next to me! The attraction of a Yeti maybe??

As for supermarkets, I regularly park as far away as possible. Did this the other day, no one around (lovely), came back half hour later to a Q7 parked right against the passenger door, wouldn't have been a problem but there was free spaces everywhere :wall:

Yes I know what you mean and I am sorry to say ladies, for some reason the girls always seem to want to park beside another car no matter how much space there is around them. Similar to the comment above I recently parked at the far end of Waitrose car park with no one around me and when I came out there was a rear seat buggy people carrier by my side, then to my disbelief another pulled in right on my other side. I could not believe it. There must be an explanation as to why they do this but I fail to understand it.

Jon...I agree

I belong to the wide space, corner plot, end plot, million miles away fraternity....on the other hand my wife likes to park her Mini Cooper next to another one so they can talk.............

I ask you......

One of the advantages of having a "Blue Badge" is that usually the disabled bays are extra wide to allow for wheelchair access. Since I got old and decrepit "supermarket dings" are rare. Bother...shouldn't have said that: tempting providence!

Just gives that extra bit of space to scrape through with a trolley, buggy and the dreaded "swinging handbag".

The only real nasty "parking" dent i've received was from a "tardis" bag that must have had a safe inside it.

The lady in question was good enough to leave a note though.

What's a supermarket?

Like your old shop but a 1000 times bigger, and the products lots cheaper :giggle:

Funny that, but we were often cheaper than both the local Co-op and Spar for some pet food items.

There does seem to be a few mutants who just HAVE to park right next to the latest reg cars in the rusty old transit van/ pickup. Oddly after my last 2 cars past the 'latest' registration the phenomenon went away.

I think the introduction of child parking bays has helped a tad to save that dimple in the body work from little dearest opening the rear door right into the adjacent car. I could go on a lot more about car park incidence but will not bore you any more...

That's the secret then, park in child parking bays, all I need now is a lady of childbearing age to accommodate me and I have my own safe parking spot. I don't think "her indoors" would approve of this solution and the chances of finding such a girl is very remote

Just put a child seat in the back  , nothing to say the child has to be with you. And less ear bashing from "Her indoors" :bandit:

Problem with this would be I would then start parking within five inches of the car next to me, and flinging the rear doors open with total abandonment against the said parked cars. We all know that child seats give you the right to do this

The weird parking standards continued yesterday when I parked far away from other cars in a halfords car park yesterday(meths seems very hard to find these days) When I returned an archaic camperlorry thing had parked directly behind Kasper with the driver using the small space between as a working area to replace some engine components.

If i hadn't just filled in a lengthy vetting form and wasn't safe in the knowledge I was about to depart this land for some R&R then I may of had words...

Going to have to hunt your Yeti down and park next to it with my kids seat in the back :giggle:

I'm becoming paranoid now, looking out for Pacific Blue Yeti's. I may have to join MarirK in the Isle of Skye to avoid you, where are the houses for sales in Scotland Web pages?
