My estate has arrived

Featured Replies

I saw a hatch with a sunroof at Hortons the other day and it seems to be full width of the roof and about the first 50% length from front to back so looks a bit like a panoramic, it was open and slid back and it popped out externally over the fixed part of the roof, looked quite a bit of kit!

On "standard" cars the hatch has a standard sunroof for £800.

The estate has the panoramic roof for £1000 or thereabouts which has a second fixed glass section behind the opening.

The press release for the VRS mentions that you can get the panoramic roof on both hatch and estate.

Lovely, really does suit the white

Cheers - seeing all the Race Blue hatches on here made me think twice if white was right!

Was in a blue car for five years before this so thought time for a change.

The standard black roof rails work well with white, probably chrome looks better with most of the other colours.

I'm jealous. Please can you post some pic of the interior, as I too ordered the Elegance blind, after driving an SE spec.

Still waiting a build week for my Estate

Will get some pics up end of this week for the interior.

Hope it's not too long a wait for you - it will be worth it!

I'm back in race blue but loved the candy White of my last vRS so much that I persuaded my wife to replace her blue Aygo with a candy White ibiza. :)

PS, there are still some interior pics on my Octy III Briskodian No 007 thread, post #38 if anyone is interested in standard black elegance interior!

Took delivery today - Estate, Candy White, 1.6 TDI DSG, Elegance.

Didn't test drive or even see Elegance spec model - ordering blind, car's better than thought, especially interior, had concerns about going for 1.6 over 2 litre but very smooth and enough power.

Pics to follow!

Car looks great!

Can you fold the rear seat backs fully flat? I read somewhere that while the backs are 40/60 split, the bench isn't - implying perhaps that it won't lift up to allow the backs to lie fully flat.

I'm thinking of moving to an estate from a MkII hatch.

Thanks.

looks great - be interested to know how the 1.6 dsg fairs on the higher motorway cruising sppeds?

Checked today- the seats back fold down but the bench is fixed. So it isn't flat but I have seen cars where the 'slope' is a lot worse.

With the variable floor it meets the base of the seat back and there is small slope upwards.

Living in the sticks so no motorway close, will get a few longer trips in next month though and can check and see.

Certainly for standard A road speeds the 1.6 engine and DSG are very smooth.

Thanks for checking! Odd that the bench does fold up in the Octy II hatch. Still, not a deal breaker.

Finally picked up my estate, seems a long time since ordering in March.

Not Great pics, but I'll post a couple.

First impressions, feels lighter and more sprightly than I feared ( I hadn't driven the 1.2 before) ,so initially pleased there.

Really like the look and pleased with the colour, barely driven yet though.

Down sides - a scratch on the glossy black B-pillar and the interior light at the front almost came apart when I tried to turn it off - I was driving along holding it in - will look more closely tomorrow.

Loving the sunset glass, wanted that on my hatch but not an option, SUK strikes again! :wall:

Ah but Matt, did yours come with the disintegrating interior light?

No but they did leave the protective film on the rear passenger interior light and when I took it off there was a dead fly inside ! Nearly broke it trying to prize it off, flicked it into the front seat, and the fly not seen since! :giggle:

Spooky, mine too has blue protective film hanging down from rear interior light, my sons spotted it straight away, I'll peel it off tomorrow and if there's not a dead fly there'll be a stern letter to SUK and no mistake.

Like the wheels, I've also ordered those for my 1.2 SE Hatch....I'd be interested in your comments on the 1.2 once you've done a few more miles. I think we may be a select club with the 1.2!

will do. I just don't cover the miles for a diesel anymore. Plus a couple of friends have had nightmares with low mileage diesels and clogged filters.

Same here I've come down form 20k miles per year to about 12k so the petrol made a lot of sense. I don't have a heavy right foot so rapid acceleration was never a requirement for me but I'd like to know there is a bit of punch there if I need it. Look forward to the updates.

Welcome to the wonderful world of 1.2. I. Switched 2 years ago from a 2.0 litre octy to the yeti and then my wife moved from a 1.9 audi to a 1.2 golf. Really great wee engine

I have ordered my first Skoda ever, Octavia Combi 1.4TSI Candy White (Ambition). Somebody has rough road package with estate, mine is with it (any pictures maybe)? Why skoda does not give big wheels or tires with it? Maybe i can change 205/55R16 to 205/60R16 or it is bad idea? How it will ride if we compare it with stanard height car?

Sorry for my bad English :)

Yep I had that too, must be the guy at Hortons that doesn't know the difference between PSI and bar striking again..!

This seems very odd to me, especially for an estate. My current Octy seat bases fold up so that with the variable boot floor you end up with a flat load area.

Quite a serious oversight, IMHO it is essential for an estate to have a flat loading area.

Well, coming to the end of three years and just 17000 miles.

The car has had no faults, I'm even, just about, on the same front tyres.

Just in process of getting quotes for replacement, probably a Vrs Tdi estate in Rallye green, I don't really do the mileage but running cost, pop etc point to diesel. Other considerations were scout and superb estate.

The 1.2 engine has been great, it has its limitations but is much stronger and wiling than I could have hoped for. The ride is unsettled over pot holes etc and it was awful the few times it snowed, but the reliability and build quality have really impressed me.

from the side...

seems to be riding quite high. I'd be tempted to fit a set of lowering springs. will make all the difference.
