Yeti Facelift?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if the Yeti is due a facelift this year?. If so then when would it be and would the CR170 DSG be available with it?

Thank you

Lots of discussion of that on here already. Do a quick search and all will be revealed

In a nut shell - later this year nobody knows the specs.

The Tiguan has been able to have the CR177 DSG since January so I'd guess an upgrade will be coming......

The 170 DSG Yeti is available from this month, however as SUK seem busy reducing the Yeti line-up I doubt we will see it here any time soon.

Oh if you don't mind LHD you could go to Germany where it is available in Ambition (SE), Elegance or L&K spec, which goes to show how short changed we are here in the UK.

I believe I am correct in thinking you can specify a right hand drive vehicle if you buy in Germany.

I thinking goes back to the days of buying a car from Europe at much lower cost?

If that is the case we all should start buying our cars from there, might then get the message that here in the UK we would like the same level of availability as in Europe

What's the situation in Ireland? They drive on the left.

About half the choice we have, so there even worse off;

Three trim levels - Active - Ambition - Elegance

engines - 1.2 TSI - 1.2 TSI DSG - 1.6 TDI - 2.0 TDI/81kW - 2.0 TDI/103kW Green Tec - 2.0 TDI/125kW 4x4 - 2.0 TDI/103kW4x4 DSG

They do however get the 140 2wd which we don't.

^ No advantage there, then :(

Around 2000 - 2001 it was worth going to Belgium, Holland and France to do a 'personal import'. In my case the cost of RHD Toyotas from Belgium combined with the strength of the £ / Euro made it well worth doing. I bought half a dozen and sold a few on straight away on at a handsome profit and kept a couple for my own use. Most of the major makes could be bought in RHD although they had to be ordered and manufactured to order. Insurance was a bit of a question (albeit a solvable issue) and it was a bit of a faff registering them. But at the time Yaris's were all the go and they all sold without a problem. Today the exchange rate, plus the relative costs of cars here as opposed to there doesn't encourage the practice...plus the deals from Drive the Deal or Broker4cars et al... plus the questions asked by insurers about imports plus the reduced residuals due to it being imported, plus the hassle/cost of actually doing it and going to collect, plus the possible requirement to source service documents etc in English all reduce the prospect of it being worthwhile. But it's a legitimate practice if you want to investigate it but it'll take a bit of time and effort and thought. I think the insurance and the residual questions need to be looked at before you did anything else.

Went to the London Motorexpo show yesterday. Only the new Superb and Octavia on the Skoda 'stand'. I asked why no Yeti and the Skoda lady said that most other people who spoke to her had asked the same. I asked about the facelift, she scuttled off to speak to a man in a suit, and came back confirming December for the UK. No further details available.

That all sounds very complicated, so I might wait until they bring it out in the UK but thank you for that, you learn something new everyday!!! :)

My brother-in-law was in the army in Germany a few years ago and he ordered a RHD Vauxhall Viva whilst there. He had to order it via a NATO department specifically set up for the military and had to collect it from the UK!

Just tried to insure my new L&K dsg with Skoda and they tell me it's only available with a 170 engine not a 140! just goes to show even Skoda have no idea what they sell

Send them a copy of their brochure.

I was looking at it on Saturday whilst mine was getting both badges replaced and it's in there.

Mind you they'd probably argue that what's in the brochure is no guide to what they actually sell....

The dealership (Royce Roberts - possibly now DM Keith) actually has a 170 manual L&K on display if anyone is after one.

Thought it was nice but i'm starting to worry they Yeti is getting to the point where it is going to become over priced.

Just compare it to the competition, then rest easy. A fully loaded CRV costs in excess of £37k. (Similar spec to L&K)

If you want a real laugh look at an Audi Q3, which may be a bit nicer inside but is mechanically the same... then add the options a well specced Elegance gets that Audi make you pay for. (cruise control is an extra ?!?!?!)

I think my Yeti (which is well specced) would about £10k+ more as a Q3. :)

I don't count the CRV as same sector.

It is a much bigger vehicle over a foot different in length.

I also wouldn't spend 37K on a CRV but that's not really my point.

It's just getting to the point where they are pushing it on the price.
