I need to be sensible, free up some capital and clear some space so am putting up for sale my recently repaired fabia Sport interior.

I sourced the seats from a breakers (ASM) in Thame from a 2005 Fabia Sport. The car had taken a hard impact to the nearside and the passenger seat was damaged. The only way to release it from the car was to cut out the B-pillar. Regardless, it appears ASM have a fixed price for their seat sets so its either buy them or don't.

The passenger seat had one bent runner and only one piece of plastic trim. The back mounting was bent, the outer base bolser was split, and like all the seats were filthy and covered in glass.

The drivers seat had a worn drivers base bolster which had collapsed.

I sourced a donor passenger seat, stripped all the plastics and foam off and used the frame and base for the passenger seat so none of the damaged metal work exists from the original seat.

I removed the covers from all the seats and washed them in the washing machine.

I took the foam bases from the front seats to an upholsterer who has repaired them. The passenger base bolster was glued and extra reinforcing foam put on top, the drivers bolster had broken down foam removed, new foam added and a reinforcing foam cover applied. I then swappped the bases over so the repairs on both seats are now on the inside bolster rather than the outside.

I also swapped the back foam over so that again the wear to the side bolsters where people get in and out is now on the inside of both seats rather than the outside.

I swapped the rear centre seatbelt from a red one to a black one.

I removed all four runners, gave them a quick rub down to remove flaking paint and rust and resprayed them with tough satin black paint.

Obvioulsy the seats have been repaired but are still from a 2005 car so are not new.

There are no under seat storage pockets

The drivers seat has lines on the fabric where it has been crushed down with the worn bolster.

The passenger seat has a small patch of broken fibres on the outer edge of the seat bolster and a small cut in the fabric to the nearside edge of the base side. (I presume caused in the collision) I have not tried to repair the cut as it is not big and I don't want to make a mess of it.

These things may not sound great but they are very minor and I want to be as honest as possible.

Price wise I have invested quite a lot.

Seats set (ASM) - £200

Rear seatbelt (ebay) - £30

Donor seat (Briskoda member) - £20

Base repairs (upholsterer) - £10

Black paint - £8

Cable ties to replace hog clips - £3

Diesel for 120 mile round trip to collect - £???

I don't want to rip anyone off and make loads of money but I do need to get some of the investment back. I am looking for £260
