Fabia VRS saloon

Featured Replies

I don't know anyone who even has a saloon fabia, let alone done a vRS conversion on one! :D

I would imagine it would need a bespoke back bumper too.  Czechs might do it, as I recall there being more saloons over there, than in this country,  They're not the prettiest saloon ever though!

There was one on the brisky stand at castle combe :)

now i know there are VRS estates out there but is there a VRS saloon?

Is it wrong to have a hankering to build one?

I reckon a saloon with VRS bumpers, skirts & wheels and a big loop Supra/Alfa 156 style spoiler on the bootlid would look pretty good...

Making one look right shouldn't take too much bother. Making one go right possibly would. Only 1.9SDI or 1.4 n/a petrol available.

Two ways really, a relatively cheap VRS-ification of the looks or.... Buy a non-runner and replace everything in it and that moves it.

Would be interesting to see one on larger rims AND tyres to fill the arches. Saloon looks a bit slabby as it is. I think I'd leave the rear end alone unless I could make the rear bumper and zorst fit the part of a big spoiler.

I think you could get a look similar to a mini modded Bora with the OEM wheels

and parts. I think a lip spoiler on the boot would be enough, vRS interior,

bit of modding to get a pair of bumpers from a vRS on there with cutout for exhaust.

Bigger brakes, Oval exhaust, PD130 and running gear and box.

I think the key thing that will give it the vRS look is finding a subtle side

skirt that doesn't look tacky or over the top.

I reckon done well it would look better than the hatch (there I said it...)

there was? Musta missed that :(

DO IT!  You've said it, now it has to be done.

nahhhhhhhhh blud, dis is de mark one forum, we is tastephul innit, not like dem cleo boyz wiv der uvven gulvs un powahhhh. Suttle n low innit.

Cheaper to buy a Bora. Assuming one has a frail elderly relative with a Fabia saloon though, they need to be convinced to stop driving and donate the car to a younger family member. :)

Have considered it in the past.

Mind you some of my projects have been a bit 'out there' so its not surprising.

Wow, they really look bad from the rear. :wonder:

Saw one in the hospital car park yesterday - wasn't sure if the owner had just left it there hoping it could be treated for the ugly growth on the rear

Pasty, I like a mad project as much as the next guy, but please don't do this.

I'll have to kill it with fire. :giggle:

I've often thought about this.

Before my Fabia I had a Polo saloon. I do miss it occasionally, the boot in a saloon like that is unbelievably big for a car of its size.

Huge boot + power would be great.

There are indeed some cars which are fine as hatches but the saloon versions look truly truly awful!

The polo was actually one that survived the transition pretty well

the Fabia on the other hand did not

nor did the Corsa

the Mazda 121 even worse

the most horrific though IMO was the mk1 focus

awesome hatch

WTF did they do! saloon

Probably because it wasn't actually a Polo, simply a rebadged Seat Cordoba/Ibiza 6K. It made for some interesting times trying to buy parts.

oh god i forgot the Cordoba

"is that an Ibiza saloon?"

"no sir it's a Cordoba an entiiiiiirely different car" :D

I have a shocking disclosure to make

SWMBO used to have a green Nova saloon

It was written off, fortunately, when someone ran into the back of it (no lasting physical injury was incurred)

I quite liked the Nova saloon,,,,

I Have seen one of these slammed, huge alloys and thought it actually looked not to bad. Don't know what powah it was putting out but, it looked decent, honest! I think it was the gold paint that did it for me, lol.

(Did I mention I was in my 50's ?)
