Centre console spare switch / button

Featured Replies

Does anybody know if the( blank / spare)  ( switch / buttons) next to the the gear stick on the centre console can be used with any universal switch or if skoda do a universal switch so i can power other items on ignition live using an on off switch rather than keep pulling the 12v cig lighter adaptor in and out all the time?

Want it to look like like a factory fitted button like a blank esp button that just says on or off on it rather than drilling a universal rocker switch in to the blank cover.

Or are there any other skoda switches i can use for options not fitted?

IE. Already have the following switches fitted.

On the left

ESP

Tyre pressure

On the right

Front parking sensors

rear parking sensors

Electric tailgate release

Are there any other switches i can get from skoda for option i do not have fitted  but i could use the switch for another purpose?

Any part numbers would be good and what they are meant to be used for or if skoda do a blank universal switch.

Any help would be great.

Does anyone have one of those internet workshop manual extracts from the pages from the internet site that does not exist any more showing all the parts that make up the centre console and how to remove it that might show all the possible buttons installed on the gear stick housing or a photo image with all 8 buttons installed so i can see what other buttons are avaliable for the blanked off switch holes??????

The blanks come out pretty easy - I was looking at mine the day bored in a traffic jam!

Start at the bottom button and just prise the bottom edge up, it will then pop out, you can then work up the line as they come out very easy.

Sorry for delay, been away for a couple of days, here you go.  Regarding all possible switches, you already have the complete set.  I'm not aware of any other combination of equipment that has more switches.

You mention that you have one for front parking sensors and one for rear.  My car has the top one for all parking sensors  (a P with a safety cone) and the next one down is for the self-parking thingy (a P with a steering wheel).

center console would have looked great if it had all spare buttons filled.

Use some Tipp-Ex: one ejector seat button, and one for self destruct (painted red, obviously).

Got a project in mind - I have KESSY (keyless entry) and can never decide where to put/drop the fob...removing two of the blanks and putting some sort of small container in would be perfect...will post when I've done it. Thanks Superb-ki for making me think about this.

If there's a spare hole for a switch it can only mean time to fit launch control

I keep mine in my pocket. Simples!

It's a shame the ventilated seat switches aren't in the centre console using a couple of the blanks instead of on the corner of the seat.  I find I occasionally knock them on with my heal when getting in or out of the car and you can only tell whether they're on or off by touch.  Also, if the passenger turns their ventilated seat on and leaves it on when they get out of the car, I can only turn it off when I'm stopped and with the seat belt off.

There is only one switch for Parking sensors, the other one I bet is Park Assist where the car can park itself since it usually comes with both front and rear sensors.

Got a spare switch from skoda that is used for disengaging the engine start/stop function not fitted to my car and only has on logo on switch which is perfect.

Only problem now is that it has a 6 pin male connector which would normally plug in to wiring loom?

Any suggestions how to wire as an on / off switch?  I.E. has anyone a wiring diagram for the 6 pins so i can identify earth, live, controller etc???? and what i can use to connect to the 6 pins?

Can i pull the connector off with out damaging the switch to get to the wires but will probably be to short for spade connectors?

Found this connector which might work if i can identify what the 6 pins are for and how to wire this connector?

Any suggestions

Also looks like you could pull the button top off the switch the replace it with the curved blacking covers that are curve profiled nearest the handbrake to use all 8 buttons as the switch fits in the bottom hole but does not fill the hole as the hole is longer and leaves an open triangle
