Your best bet is to follow the instructions up to and including  No. 7. Offer up the linings and mark where the hole in the liner is for step 8. Then remove the lining and you should be able to find the hole.

Thanks Owens where in the arch should I be looking though if the first few are to the right and left of the shock where roughly are the ones in step 8?

It's looks like there are more holes in the liners than needed

The hole to the lower rear outer edge are not used on the Citigo.

Not got my Citigo yet, so can't have a look for myself. Does the Citigo not have rear wheel arch liners as standard? Or is that just on lower spec models?

None of the Citigo's have rear arch liners.

So are these a Skoda accessory? Or a VW Up one?

Great guide! Does anyone have a ball park figure on the cost of this and are the part numbers Skoda or VW?

I think it's a little over £100 for everything and they're VW part numbers.

I collected liners today, my dealer was going to fit but they have changed their minds because the mounting holes could not be seen.

The cost was £ 68 inc vat for liners and adapters.

But Service manager is going to talk to a couple of people, I have faith in him to get it sorted.

This is my second citigo, on my last model I got carpet tiles and cut them into sections then used hard as nails external to fix then a couple of coats of under seal. They had been on for 2 years and had made a big difference.

I got my new car last week and following day it was wet and immediately noticed road spray.

I also painted rear brake drums black with smooth rite paint, they were still perfect after 2 years.

Don't know why vw group do not paint drums because they look shabby after a short while,

It is the same on polo and Fabian.

Ordered today, I would like to add on behalf of the OP the parts guy at VW said that some of the part numbers had changed/were different

Below is a photo of all the parts I ordered, from what I can tell these are all the same part numbers just a few have an odd letter added on the end

Best fit is parts from E-up.

Interesting. Just dropped over from the Octavia section. SWMBO is getting an Up - High trim - next week, not new, 62 plate. I'll be looking to see if it has these.

Hi Guys

I promised to install the liners on my mother in law's VW Up. When I opened the box I found these: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qqe5jobn3zo1pnm/IMG_0615.JPG?dl=0

Does anyone know the full story??

All parts are VW parts

Kind Regards

Tomas

Hi TumzDK, please can you tell me how the parts in your photo fit with the arch liner?

Many Thanks,

Fitted mine last week. Doesn't take too long but second one took about half the time once you know where to look for the holes. Need a couple of torx drivers or keys 25 (and 15 to remove the very back small screw which is already there). Good bit quieter now.

I think I'll get some for the OH's Up. Drove it yesterday and couldn't believe how noisy it was. Or maybe it was how I drove it.

The rough guide is good. To get the top 2 holes, I laid on my back looking up with a torch to find the holes. I didn't need to trim the arches so they may be a different design although they do protrude down a little bit at the rear but you can't notice it. Give me a shout if you need any photos. You really need a torx bit on a driver or an extension or long reach key to get the screws into the new adaptor sad they are quite deep but I think ill be apparent when you see themselves.

Thank you for the guide Owens! It's always nice to see what you have to do before you start. It would be nice for a Haynes manual for the UP!/Citigo/Mii.

I was checking my rear tyres the other day and noticed the wheel arch liners were missing.  I was totally amiss as to why they weren't there.  Removed by the dealership?  Forgotten at the factory?  Of course checking the forum cleared it all up.  It's a low low move by Skoda to remove them, I wonder what else they removed to save money...

But hey thanks for the guide, absolutely fantastic.  I'm going to buy up the parts and try fitting it in the next weeks, when [if] the sun returns.  Maybe I'm irrational but I hate the fact the cars doesn't have them from the factory, even the SE L

Removed? Are you saying they used to be fitted (originally), then were deleted, and then re-instated? My early 2019 SE-L 75 has plastic liners, and so did the late 2019 Citigo SE 60  courtesy car I used a three days ago....
