Folding in both of the exterior mirrors using the remote control key.. b=

Featured Replies

Page 56 of the Yeti manual says that by holding the Lock Button for 2 seconds will fold the mirrors .

This does not happen for me. What do I need to do activate this function.

Your help is appreciated

I have to press, then press and hold for a bit. Does the trick

Yes just keep  your thumb/finger on the lock button and they will move in. Also closes the sunroof as well if it is open

First lock your car with one press. Then keep lock button pressed for a few seconds.

This may be a silly question, but does your Yeti have folding mirrors?

This is the question...

Have you check your rotary knob?? do you have the folding position in the rotary knob??

If you don't have it, it won't work, obviously...

You can close the windows (and soon roof if you have it) with the same method (keeping lock button pressed).

Hope it helps...

Best regards!

And wind them all down at once when unlocking the car.

Exactly the same method. Press unlock button until they go to where you want them, and release.

Ive not got folding mirrors but I guess the same applies ?

The mirrors on mine don't unfold with the unlock button - they unfold when you put the key in and turn. My windows do operate in the manner you describe though.

Hi Guys

Thanks for that , I tried again and it would still not work it also would not close an open window, I then tried my other  key and it works just like you say , hold close button for a couple of seconds closes any open windows and folds mirrors , mirrors return to the open position when I start the engine, I am going in to the dealer on Friday to pick up an Ash tray  I will take both keys in with me and see what they can do

 Thanks again for your help , it really is a good site this for getting help

OH... this is a clue... Maybe you must reset the system. Proceed as follows:

› switch on the ignition;

(do this three steps on all windows/all buttons. First, one window, second other one, and so on);
› pull the top edge of the button in the driver's door to close the window
› release the button;
› pull the relevant button upwards again for approx. 3 seconds.

When you have done this, open the 4 windows and close the car pressing and holding the lock button on the remote control key and see if it works now.

Hope it helps.

Hi cpa I tried your suggestion and I could close the windows using the remote No problem, but the mirrors would not fold so I started the engine folded the mirrors in and out again using the mirror controls in the door switched off the engine and then locked the car using the remote, holding the close button for two seconds and the mirrors folded .

Thank you for help

Great!!!... :rock:

Just seen thread ; had this "mirror will not fold in " happen to me a couple of times and yes I think I did it manually via the switch and it then worked.

Must be a bit like the electric windows re-calibration

I'm rather disappointed with the "folding wing mirrors" I checked when I ordered my Yeti that they did fold, but was not told that they only fold when you are travelling at less than 15mph (Owners Manual)   - in fact mine seems to like to be stationary before folding them. I know that most would only use this feature when parking, but since I have to travel down a very narrow lane to get to & from home and get fed up with bashing the wing mirrors on all the growth, which due to cut backs, hadn't been cut back this year - until this week that is - just in time for the tourists ! - I have always folded the mirrors to drive down the lane, since what is happening in front of me is far more important than what's behind ! My Honda HRV mirrors just folded when told to do so not stamp it's wheels and refuse to do so.

Just had the cigarette lighter/power socket re-wired so that when the ignition is off it is also off - cost £90.00 but worth it not to see the sat. nav. gleaming in the dark when I've forgotten to unplug it !

I agree - I've tried several times when meeting oncoming traffic in narrow lanes but have to wait until nearly stopped before the d*mned mirrors will fold. My Jag refuses to fold its mirrors above 74mph - a bit more reasonable!

I've also had mine refuse to fold several times from the key, but it seems that they will only fold if all windows (and sunroof?) are already closed otherwise holding the button invokes global close instead. Stupid software design - again on my Jag the mirrors fold when you lock the car (on the fob) and unfold when you unlock, and global open/close is independent which is all very logical.

Whilst I'm in a rant mood, why on earth do Skoda have an unreadable rotating knob to fold the mirrors from inside the car when a simple spring-loaded switch would do. And why do I need to press the fob lock once to double-lock and twice to single-lock - the exact opposite of my other cars. And, ... oh, I could go on for pages. But the Yeti is such a good car otherwise, just makes the odd bits of poor (VW) design so much more irritating.

The ability to fold the mirrors using the remote has now failed a number of times Neither of my 2 keys will work.

I am able to sort it following the advice given by CPA 9th July. Do you think this is a fault that can be sorted or is it something I will just have to live with

Is there away of fitting the module as I do not have this options with mine

The 15mph limit to fold has been a grip of mine since I saw this feature became available on the Yeti. Really daft for all the reasons described above. I wonder if you can disable this silly speed restriction via a VCDS machine?

Same on my Pug 207cc: very sensible!

Answered elsewhere, but very unlikely and potentially very expensive.
