Alternative Front seats

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if any front seats from other Skodas fit the Citigo? The headrests provide no support at all for either myself or my wife.

Isn't it actually a neck rest? Against whiplash. I'm quite pleased original neck rests. I have no needs to rest my head while I'm driving.

I am very pleased you have no need to rest your head whilst driving but some people have medical issues which mean that they need some support for their neck/head whilst driving which a normal seat and headrest would provide.

Perhaps someone else may be able to answer my question.

Sorry, I can't answer your question. It may have to be a case of trial and error but I think Emil was saying that the Citigo seats have head restraints as opposed to head rests. Perhaps some kind of after market support is available to fasten on to the original seat?

I'm sorry and I couldn't know that you both have medical issues.

What I was trying to say is that original seats are better than they looks.

If one has medical issues regarding a car's design, one really should check if it is suitable before purchase

I always understood that "head restraints" are to prevent whiplash in accidents and in no way are supposed to be a head "rest". In the 10 plus cars I've owned, I've never had a seat where my head ever touches the restraint during normal driving.

What about a headrest cushion? My wife uses one in both our Citigo and our Yeti. We have back leather ones with Skoda emblem from eBay. Search eBay.

Would anything like this be suitable ? I believe they just hold on to the seat with an elasticated strap or similar.

Thanks to those who made constructive comments. I'll probably go down the line of the head cushions as a starter and keep looking.

A bit snippy there is it not?

You asked about 'Alternative Seats' and mentioned Headrests but nothing about Medical or similar problems until there was a reply.

So what has been the ideal previous seats in cars. Will Fabia SDI Classic seats fit?

Why not go and look at specialist seats that could be fitted, or measure some of the previous good ones you have had in a scrap yard or similar then see about fitting them into the car.?

All I asked was whether anyone knew of other seats that fitted the Citigo as the headrests don't provide any support. Whether the headrests should do is immaterial.

Some people have provided alternatives which is helpful, others have been less so, making no attempt to answer the question but commenting on my decision to buy a Citigo and the purpose of the headrests.

I have had numerous seats whose headrests provided support when tipped forward, including Fabia Vrs ones, but am no expert on seat fittings and was hoping someone on the forum had looked into changing seats already.

If you can not do it and do not know someone that will be doing the job for you or giving advice, maybe from the likes of someone that does Mobility or Motorsport Conversions,

it does look like Cushions or some neck rest device, maybe help neatly by seat covers would be the idea.

Plenty available from Specialist Disabled car seating & the likes companies,

and this saves having engineering/welding/modifying done to the car, and needing to reverse that when changing or selling the car.
